Hello can any one tell me why my v8 box keeps freezing some times then it is all right i have updated all the lists and followed the instructions that have been posted
But the picture still keeps freezing and then it goes all right for a long time then it freezes again.
Also I would like to thank every one on this forum

Help Please when I go to change epg from sat to XMLTV and do the update for 1 Uk with usb in front usb it starts its process then says EPG Decompress Failed Please check disk volume... what have I done wrong?

Ensure you have loaded correct update firmware---remove usb key and reformat---go to a fta channel [not hd] and insert key---go to XMLTV app--ensure it reads internet XMLTV at top---UK ato download to on and away you go. Remember to leave key in.
If still get problem then change key.

Cheers Reaper just read another thread and notice you need to download the file, quick question if I do this and install will I loose network apps? if so ill just live with it the way it is!

hi I am new to the openbox v8s and not very technically gifted I want to download the bug fix from skybox.cc to my usb then on to my openbox please could you help me do this

if you read back through this thread you'll see a very detailed guide by reaper, it worked for me :)

(the only thing I had to do was rename the firmware file to remove spaces as the box wouldn't see it until I did)

I used a 300GB HDD. Updated the f/m with Reaper's file. XMLTV then updated fine and is working(ish)

Doesn't have any info for most of the Movie channels.
And doesn't recognise on a lot of channels what is on right now. Gonna leave it a day or so and see if it sorts itself out :-)

Thanks to The Reaper for the V8s fix. It worked first time, but now, on rebooting, the V8s shows a Skybox logo instead of Openbox. Also, can someone tell me how to get the Youtube and Youporn features back, Please?

Firmware up to date and Epg downloaded fine, auto update switched on but will not auto update! have to manually update every few days, is this a glitch in the firmware update?

Hi All

Newbie to this and trying to get the XmlTV working on my Openbox V8S - can someone advise if the 7 day EPG is ok to download? various posts says "yes it is" and other say "no it is broken"
