Cable Zgemma H1 full VM Setup guide

New to this and about to buy a zgemma.

Regarding the cable connection. Can it be any connection? I have an old virgin media broadband connection at my house that I no longer have a subscription with.

Will this be fine to connect to my zgemma?

I do have a seperate broadband connection via adsl that I can also connect.

to use cable your connection needs to be active, no need for a tv package or subscription contract with vm but you will need an active vm cable broadband connection.

You could get a friendly aerial techy to test the cable for a signal or probably but something off the web! I've no VM tv or BB sub but the old owner of my house did and the cable was still live at the exchange. He moved over 2 years! Obviously it could get cut off at anytime but just saying if you have a box - try it! Then get a basic sub if need be...I will be taking their internet when my contract is out with current ISP

This box is not officially supported by Vix so there will be bits & pieces with bugs. Hence guru Sucmnsee have done all those tailor stuff and given his backup in plate to us [emoji6]

Was a dodgy connection. Managed to scan and find all channels but now just a black screen on all the VM channels, even on the FTA channels. Is the test line i have required for FTA, just wondering if that is in wrong. Or should it pick those up anyway without a line.

Hi as I said in post 66, I am a bit behind on knowledge. Got my H1 and trying to get it running following Teesmarkhan guide. I am finding it difficult to load from the following as I dont know which one to load: They are:-https://filezilla-project.org/

Just edit using notepad and use fzila to paste or upload those files. Just drag and drop in the folder.

Hi I have a zgemma receiver which is set up but I want to access TS media to download such as vidics but I cant download it, I'm a complete techno phobe so instructions need to be very basic, can you help?

thats the newest of his 1st gen H1, H2, 2S image backups, if this is the one you say is an old file thats because VIX is not supported for over the air software updates so the firmware build remains as it was when assembled unlike ATV which can be updated over the air, the build is still stable & use by many, its a bit of a pain to keep making fresh images every time an update comes out so if its not broke dont fix it springs to mind, IF you want up to date firmware go for OpenATV but that also has its minor issues but is officially supported.
