Mother covered with snow, still stands guard

Gets up and shakes herself off,

Then just gets back on with the job.

Egg Size.jpg

just to get an idea of scale in relation to the size of the birds and the eggs.

Teamwork....

Mother flies off , within a minute or so, Dad is back, turns eggs and get's on with the job..

Really poxy weather they are having, snow seems to be at least 3 inches deep on the nest.

I have been watching every day from the start Wheelo,The interactions between our future eagle parents is amazing. We are all loving it here.Just pity about the snow

It looks like the weather is picking up thank god, all the snow seems to have melted off the nest, about 35 says until hatching

Go on Mom :)

Mother's instinct kicks in straight away. It's very easy to forget the size of these birds (we know the size of a racoon from nature programmes) the eggs are the size of a tennis ball.

More snow during the night,

Also, the "night of the owls", watch Dad guard the nest when owls get too close for his liking ( watch from about 2.30)

Only another two days for the next one, I think. Just keep popping in and out of the Facebook page, they post about twice a day, sometimes with a video link, and sometimes with photos. It does be a long aul watch waiting for one of the parents to get up to see the eggs/chicks, etc.
