Got a problem with my sisters hp lappy keyboard on win 10, when she hits the letter ' e' it opens explorer, various other keys not working as they should, any ideas?

check the windows key is not stuck i,e, the one with logo

Depending on how old laptop is windows key used to have a lock symbol. Google and youtube is still available to find such things out that comment was not meant for you

no and the Windows key isn't stuck

have you got the right settings for keyboard ( english )


Select the Start > Settings > Time & language > Language & region. Select the language that has the keyboard you want, then select Options. Select Add a keyboard and choose the keyboard you want to add. If you don't see the keyboard you want, you may have to add a new language to get additional options.

Pressing the windows key and 'E' will open explorer, so I'd say it is stuck in

Inclined to agree with the above. Windows key stuck would also stop other keys working correctly. Plug in an external keyboard and see if its the same.

Try turning it upside down and give it a bloody good shake. Do it outside or over the sink as you may get a load of crap come out from under the keyboard

I plugged in my keyboard and it works fine, not on the laptop though
