Radio Code for Nissan Micra 2003 Please

Hi there
I've just passed my driving test and bought my first car!! A 1.0 2003 Nissan micra!!
i thought I was on the right track inputting the 'safety number' (3991) that came on the radio pass. But now it says to wait 1 hour and I have the feeling that I'm putting the wrong code in.
The serial number is BP234732045308. Can anyone out there help me unlock my radio?

Ah ok thanks! So the safety code will unlock it? I put it in and the display read wait 1 hour, that's why I thought it was incorrect.
Although the car is 10 years old it's been well looked after and the radio is original and the little card with the radio info was tucked into the manual.

There is no paper detailing serial number etc on the back of my radio but I can see the following numbers stamped into the case which I hope are enough 8635 123 642 01

There must be something engraved on the metallic casing or on labels.

3991 is the master code for that serial
if serial is correct and you are entering code correctly then your radio has probably been recoded

just to make sure check if your part number is 7 642 347 318
if it is then 3991 is correct


you could try 1991 or 1511
if none work then the only way is to read EEPROM dump file but to get this file is a specialists job
