you just download the apps on to the box

If you saved all your apps to another device like android phone or tablet you wouldn't have to download! Just transfer them back!

Use a cloud backup and restore will auto download the apps for you

I've got all my apps hosted in a filelinked store, launcher and everything so it's just a matter of reinstalling everything on new devices for family or whatever. Or use one of those all in one backup apps. Depends on the type of box too, more authentic ones google-wise and official Android TV have Google's cloud backup services.
