Closing schools makes it worse for everyone.
Those kids need looking after.
Mum and/or Dad have to stay home to look after them... if not, they get palmed off to grandparents = disaster
Mum/Dad may be a doctor, nurse, paramedic, other emergency service worker.
Kids interact with each other just as much when off school so still chance of passing it

Coronavirus: Downing Street to give daily TV briefings on outbreak
The government is to hold daily televised press conferences to update the public on the fight against coronavirus, Downing Street has said.

You have sources in the Government then, they don't even know when so no chance anyone else will.

Some schools said last week that they thought they would be closing schools this week as they expected the Cobra meeting last week to decide to close schools but that didn't happen.

We can't even rely on our own governments figures which are the ones they release to the press. "Lies, damned lies, and statistics" is an expression that springs to mind. Margaret Thatcher admitted herself that the TV comedy Yes Minister was quite near the truth and was her favourite TV show.

That's the first thing I agree on with you, they can't release the true figures for there model as they haven't been testing! so the input of data is flawed.! so the out come of this so called scientific data model is bollix.

Historically all the governments in the world have lied to their people during a crisis. We should not expect them to do otherwise now

Its to stop global panic thats why governments are being a bit unrealistic with the figures etc.

Looked what happened at Chernobyl one of the biggest efforts of a cover up in history

True figures of those infected and even dead are not going to be released. They don't want to create mass panic.

I wonder if they could set up places for testing people to see if they have the virus like what they are doing in the US.

But at the same time that many people in one place could be too much of a risk.
