Covid-19 the second wave

Yep he was adamant schools especially primary would remain open but of course he closed all schools for a good period of time now.

TBH alot of pressure was mounted from unions, scientists and others to make this change. He had to give in had no other option plain and simple whether he likes it or not.

Lets hope the vaccine can over the month reduce the infection rate substantially as 2021 already not started of good at all.

Special, schools staying open by looks of it

Tbf he gives in on everything... his u-turns are the only thing he's consistent with

Same here, nothing much different bar I've got 3 large bottles of Southern from Christmas that need to be eliminated.
Do what you friggin well want Boris, I think most people are beyond caring its all become a farce.

It is just me or are other countries going through what were going through???. I hear rag all of anywhere else suffering from the same restrictions that UK folk are been hit with.

Teachers asked the Gov for recent figures and they are unable to produce any as to why were heading for a total lockdown.

Get jabbing and get those boozers open but leave the gyms closed so I've an excuse
Most other countries are following the rules,
just before Xmas I came back from 9 months in Denmark,
They closed solid for 9weeks on March 16th, then reopened gradually and are fairly back to normal,
But everyone wears masks, stay 2m apart in shops, wear masks, obey the rules.
I couldn't believe it when I got back to UK,
people not giving one fk,!!!!!
Folks pushing you aside at the supermarket, not wearing masks, and prob those same people moaning the pub is shut.

The likes of France Germany Holland Italy Belguim don't follow the rules and they give a f##k ether simply because they dont have a free health service to protect.
Its all about coin, not lives,

Not true.
Italy and Spain had it worse than us at the beginning and they do follow the rules, as they do in all the other countries mentioned above.
They don't have a NHS like we do and they pay for their own healthcare.
Perhaps if we had the same we wouldn't have had 50,000 super spreaders marching through London trying to get on TV every week in summer pretending to care about something

There is a telling joke in Scandinavian countries that perhaps reveals the difference in attitude, it goes along the lines of : "we can't wait for the 2m-apart social distancing rules to end so we can go back to being 4m apart from each other..."

Really?, I've a friend online who works in Milan he said there told to follow guidelines but no one does very similar to the UK.

Its ok putting restrictions in place its another enforcing them.
So let's see essential workers list:-

Food
Health care hospitals to health centres, chemist etc etc etc
Supermarkets
Supermarket warehouse
Farmers
Transport
Taxi drivers
Online warehouse stores the likes of Amazon, Argos etc etc etc,
Electric gas water utilities
Comms companies
Road civil workers
Do you need me to name anymore
Lockdown? Who's actually locking down ?.

Millions are still moving around and doing as normalockdown won't work unless everyone in Britain goes no were for a month.
Then
1 Chinese guy flies in with Covid

Back to square one,
Let's put all our efforts and money into the vaccine.
Tell you what, offer them £5 off at Asda voucher if you get jabbed and they'll be queuing round your surgery block with no complaints.
We managed to get 30 million through the voting booths last year in a day with no queuing what so ever.
I stood there voting with old codgers stinking of p1ss able enough to vote Boris and Brexit in. I'm sure they can crawl to to doctors get a jab

Either way you look at it it's fekked up you have all the welts that go about not a care in world with gatherings not wearing masks god knows where they've been who they've been around which is a p*SS take in its self.

As most schools close we've been informed our kids schools will be staying open so this will be 2nd lockdown our kids have gone to school which is good to an extent staff just need to sort care out for their own kids ect.

Theres no answer I heard 1 guy saying test and isolate again, everyone, so let's see,

You have the app
You speak with someone who a day later tests positive whether at work or family friend so you isolate for 14 days, that's 14 days off work.
You test, you test negative, great time to go back work.

Then, say your back at your essential work job and the day after,
Ping you app goes again your told to self isolate again as you've been near a guy who has since tested positive.
Again, you test negative and have to self isolate. Now I know 2 people at my local hospital who actually had this to happen.
And, who's to say they've not already have it not knowing (most never know) and you have anti bodies.

Then we have a testing system highly flawed with false readings both ways so it cannot be trusted and is only really a guideline.

Testing at this stage will fail, it failed at the beginning and will fail again. People are at their wits end with it all.
Let's get jabbing like cattle branding.

In my opinion we only gave the one option left, we must rely on a vaccine.

The logistics of jabbing all the vulnerable and old will take not months more like f##kin years. Christ, they do some moaning on the QC the codgers. Non of them will head their doctors to get it.

Like I said, offer them a months free electric or something there'd be a mass charge zimmers and electric buggies to the docs stinking of urine

There was no testing at the beginning because tests were expensive and rare as rocking horse dung

Yeah but without chemists, road and transport workers, warehousing and half a dozen others you mentioned in post #1,091 getting the vaccines delivered would be impossible.
We don't need hair and beauty salons. Gyms, garden and diy outlet's, clothes and shoe shops, furniture and a thousand other non essential businesses open but we do need health, transport and food

On the subject of people not giving two flying fekks these people haven't been following rules even when our city was in tier 4 so going back into full lockdown doesn't give me hope for these people.

Been few times to the post office last few weeks to post letters. Can tell you at least half of those people wore no masks and wasn't even 2m distancing. Even the person running the post office didn't enforce anything.

Standing amongst such pillocks was uncomfortable to say the least.

These same people who don't give a toss about the rules are the same I would guess who think the vaccine has come out of gates backside.

I agree with most of this, with one exception, I reckon d.i.y stores are necessary , for general maintenance, and mental health too.
They've stopped me playing golf, stopped me going to the pub, at least let me play with my saws and drills I am maintaining social distancing.

Builders merchants and such likes are allowed to open I found out this morning, so B&Q will fall into this category.
Which is handy as I need 10 bags of skimming tomorrow
