New European super league includes six EPL teams

Can't see it happening myself.
All 6 clubs booted out of premier league and champs and europa leagues?
So they play a dozen games per year...who's going to be interested in that?

People in India, America, middle East etc.

That the English don't like it is but tears rain

Edit Gary Neville just made a direct appeal for players to get stuck in and brought up going on strike "lads you can end this..."

Can we all play nicely please, or leave the thread if you can't.

FWIW I didn't see too much wrong with any of the posts until the swearing started, I saw two people who agree with the super league - teddybloat and 36red, and everyone else (myself included) against it.
People are not lemmings just because they all agree on the opposite side of ones argument, and neither are they bullying just because they are arguing against your point.

We are completely sick of the constant bickering and sniping that has crept in recently, it completely detracts from our "friendly forum" pledge.

From what I have read on social media today! There are a lot of players and managers that are extremely unhappy to what is planned!
A lot of the 6 (Super clubs) included.
If you are a football fan! It leaves a bad taste!
Dreams dashed for the sake of cash!
I don't think it will be allowed to go ahead!

I'm neither for it or against it.

I think it would be terrible for United and Liverpools UK fans. But the rest of us will be 'meh' and get on with supporting our teams.

Fans around the world will probably like it.

Understood

Chaos

Leicester cannot finish above city on points and are 10 points behind United.

Betting odds for the title:

Yep Leicester are wayyyy shorter than United.

Sorry, I may have misread your posts.
Have to agree with you, it will be the domestic fans who care, not so much the millions who stream from afar, and as for the fans from around the world, it probably would suit them to be able to see the best teams from several leagues playing each other.

It's a publicity stunt to fill stadiums when restrictions are lifted and to remind fans of what they "could lose".
My prediction is one team, then two will back out, then the whole thing will collapse.
Funny how it was only announced the day AFTER the funeral of Prince Philip so as to gain maximum coverage with no other distractions - it's a set up.

Be very interested to see how the fans of the American owned clubs take this.

My guess is they can see what's down the road and really come out hard against it. I think they will expect their players and manager to make a stand and not hide behind their jobs.

Klopp was way too salty and defensive for me, he has to expect stick as he represents his employers and is happy to take their money.

Wonder if sky will get creative with the fan noise lol

At a cross roads where the fans of United and Liverpool really need to fight for their identity and the soul of their clubs

You could be going down the road of not merely leaving old Trafford / anfield but having a significant portion of home games played abroad. Imagine having American fan culture having an equal stake as being the legitimate home crowd lol.

Deary me.

Wish you all the very best lol

Im not really a football fan
but wasnt it said when the Glazers took over united that something like this would happen.?
thus FCunited was formed,,,

Fans lost football years ago, EPL clubs refer to them as "customers" not supporters, that says it all. And going to watch the game is now billed "the matchday experience" which translates to "prepare to be milked of every penny in the name of supporting your team. "

Personally I don't think anyone has any right to complain though, when the Italians led the way with the mega money in the early 90s we wanted to keep up with them and to be able to attract the best talent in the world to our shores so the sport was massively commercialised. We asked for this.

What's all the fuss about? So 6 teams want to be part of a new league, so what, leave them alone. If it fails it fails, if its a success its a success.
They never said they want to leave any premier league or english cup competition yet as far as I know.
As usual the public are jumping on the bandwagon and bringing all nonsense into the equation, grass roots football, pyramids, clubs belonging to fans etc etc
Lets see how it pans out. The guys making this decision are astute businessmen with great legal teams behind them.
Mansoor is not a yank and his legal team got city off the ffp charge so anything is possible.
The teams that have not been invited are shouting the most as they will have no teams to leech off anymore if it happens, so bring it on!
Let battle commence! My thinking is that the ESL will go ahead. I could be wrong but I doubt it

I'm not hyped can just see astute businessmen getting a return on their money. Mansoor knows the time of day as does the russian and the yanks. Glad to see you will be watching Man United as usual, they live in your head, and we know you are a closet red devil just come out and say it :ROFLMAO:

Haha! They do live in my head. I'm absolutely loving their fall from grace. The last few years have been comedy gold. Glory Glory Man Utd with no trophies to show lol

Non match going fans won't be as bothered.

United have proper lads who follow them away for example. Truly support the club and are generational fans with local ties. They will be horrified and will do their best to rid United of the current owners

People who only follow on the Tele or have no links to the club or fan culture will probably be hella excited. They outnumber the true heads

If one or two of these six teams come out in the next few weeks and say they no longer wish to be considered, then that will be the beginning of the end of the idea, if it ever does go ahead, which I dont think will happen, but if ,then we will all accept it and carry on, hopefully those clubs would then be sanctioned by UEFA and their respective leagues, I think along the same lines as Pablo on this one, just cant see it getting over the line.

You have a sick outlook on life and a massive chip on your shoulder for some reason and a foul mouth.
I never swore at you just posted my opinion on the ESL saying the owners of the said 6 are astute businessmen which they are FACT.
No trophies to show? Is that all football means to you trophies lol now that is so sad I feel sorry for you.
Just a quick recap of the no trophies that have found their way into the Old Trafford trophy room:

Domestic

League

Cups

European

Worldwide

Doubles and Trebles

I have no idea who you pretend to follow but if you are city then football existed before 2011 or if you are like Bazil and chelsea before 2004. Spurs are a nothing and liverpool have won just the 1 title in 32 years.
