What i advice take it or leave it.

Is a good spec none certified Chinese android box.

Most have malware on them so purchase one you can install a clean scene rom on. Slimbox roms as an example. SO a AMlogic device.

Don't sign in to any google accounts although as its not certified they carnt push updates to it but all the same don't.

Install a VPN and sideload all the apps you need.

Don't install downloader either as a lot or those quick and easy codes installing apps are infected with malicious files.

Boxes Below can run Slimbox roms

Aliexpress links as most of these types of boxes will be.

TANIX TX5 very reputable brand wont have Malware and can be run without a Slingbox rom.

Can anyone let me know where to find the slimbox rom for the MX11 mentioned in this post?

Thinking of getting one from the advice given but can't find the rom to flash it with?

The slimbox website takes me to a 404 page here https://slimboxtv.ru/m11-max/

The S905x5M Is not supported via Slimbox yet.

It will be, but as its a relatively new chipset they are probably awaiting box samples to work their magic on.

If i was you, id go with the Tanix TX5 Plus no malware and wait for the rom to be developed.
 
I've bought a transpeed x8 from aliexpress seems ok. Not flashed it an it does seem ok and only gonna use it for 1 thing. Only problem i have with it is the time on the display is so bright and for the life of me can't find a setting to disable it or dim it but all in all not a bad box for £15

If you install productivity launcher there is a setting in there to dim the display.
 
Might be device specific,i have PL on a Shield,Google Streamer and a Xiaomi Mi box but no setting there either but none of them have a front panel display 🤔

Mine has a front panel built in led strip light but I can only change it from android settings.
I can change brightness level and colour.
 
Can I ask a favour of anyone with a tanix tx5 plus?

Could you please measure the exact width of the unit?

I'm organising the equipment in the tv unit and I want to leave enough space for it as I might get a Tx5 next year.

There are various dimensions quoted online and I don't trust any of them. Anything from 100 to 120mm is quoted.
