ABOUT TIME ( DITCH THOSE FIRE STICKS )

Not fiddled with roms, on android not flashed for a while (not that I can speak about on a open forum) 😂 last flashed a mountain of dbox2s back in the day. But always willing to improve my knowledge as a pensioner 👍
Need to start a new thread mate !

Would Panasonic TV's running the Fire OS be affected to? I have the official paid for Tivimate on mines and it works great, I still have my Formuler Z11 if it all goes pear shaped though.

Yes t would all amazon devices .

Enable these settings it will help for a while.

Get a proper android Tv stick £30-£70 for a good device job done.

No more issues with blocking.

You can change a few router settings to stop amazon but its a bit tricky for the average user so enable settings below

AMAZON FIRE STICKS/CUBES

Disable everything and it will stop them monitoring what you are using.

1) Go into settings - Appstore

2) Automatic Updates - Select (OFF)

3) In-App Purchases - Select (OFF)

4) Notifications - Select (OFF)

To disable Amazon monitoring

GO INTO SETTINGS

1) Preferences

2) Privacy Settings

3) Device Usage Data (OFF)

4) Manage sharing from apps (OFF)

5) Collect App Usage Data (OFF)

6) Interest-Based Ads (OFF)

Disable Featured Content

1) Settings

2) Select Preferences

3) Featured Content

4) Turn off both Allow Video Autoplay and Allow Audio Autoplay

Cheers moshibeth, I have disabled all the settings you mentioned, I just wasn't 100% sure they could do this as its a Panasonic device not an Amazon device, albeit they run the Fire OS, I'd have thought Panasonic would have some issue with Amazon messing with their TV's remotely? as I said I still have my Formuler so I'm good if it does get blocked.

Formuler is a great device you are in good shape 👍

Panasonic have a partnership with Amazon to use their OS but Amazon still control the OS.
You would need to block the TV from connecting to Amazon servers at router level to stop them from removing any apps that are classed as piracy apps by ACE.
App developers will have to keep changing metadata within apps to stop them being flagged.

What's the score with the media players, smarters and xciptv etc. Will they be blocked by Amazon as well.
Don't they have legitimate uses.

App removal will start in Germany and France first, Amazon stated this.
Update
An Amazon spokesperson has confirmed that “Through an expanded program led by the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), a global coalition fighting digital piracy, we’ll now block apps identified as providing access to pirated content, including those downloaded from outside our Appstore.” The blocks will start in Germany and France and then roll out globally. Amazon would not say which specific apps would be blocked.

Wait and see, Some (Not necessarily anyone on here) might have alterior motives to want members to switch devices.

I will try to give a better response than just buy another device without any recommendation.
There hasn’t been any reports of iptv players being blocked yet and as mentioned they are legitimate apps with legitimate uses.
It’s basically wait and see what ACE deem to be a piracy app.
The FS 4k Max is difficult to replace in its price range especially when they are on sale.
You may have to spend a little more on a device unless you go the cheap android box route.
Unless you just wait it out which I would do if I used an Amazon devices.
The Xiaomi Tv Stick 4k 2nd gen is pretty close to a FS 4k max replacement but I haven’t used one so do some research and that goes for any device tbh.
It does have the same CPU found in Onn 4k plus device that seems to get plenty of praise.
The Xiaomi TV box S 3rd gen does have better storage though 32gb compared to 8gb.

You can still preform the exploit on fire devices just of the shelf

Yeah I know you can and good options to stop amazon removing your apps if your current device has been updated and the exploit has been patched and is no longer available.
I was just giving my opinion on the iptv player grey area and an option for a FS replacement with similar performance.

Thanks for sharing all the knowledge. Never been a fan of Firestick but went with a fire cube years ago as tied to Amazon ecosystem for non-tele stuff.

Currently on holidays in Asia and yes Xiaomi is miles ahead of firestick, no adverts, and a lot easier to install/sideload.

I haven’t noticed any blocks yet in U.K. and hopefully developer mode and repackaging will solve it. If not, perhaps good riddance from nagging Amazon ads on tele.

I also don’t suspect Google can remove things on each and every non fire device. I have noticed locally assembled televisions in some Asian countries have their own app stores, which make finding non region locked apps etc a lot easier. Surely they can’t just turn off all them teles in few months …

I suppose you might get a couple of years out of old fire sticks who knows let's see what gets blocked.

But all this business on certain devices flashing ROMs and installing exploits is a bit over the top personally wouldn't bother.

If I was going to do that would just use enigma boxes

Plenty of boxes around the £50 to £60 range that are better than Amazon sticks. But each to there own I suppose.

The point of android is that its simple. No need for work arounds

Agreed. One of my family member uses Xiaomi Mi box 4K and damn thats so less bloated and stock OS than annoying FireOS advertisement bonanza 🤮

Got an inertia to change, so yes if Amazon finally pushes me towards Xiomi or Nvidia Shield to get rid of ads, works for me.

The Google TV Streamer is now back down to 74 notes from £134.
NOT SURE HOW YOU Source Discount CODE?
Not sure how it compares to firestick 4k max Amazon black Friday deal. 👍
Google TV Streamer 4K is a premium option with more power, storage, and built-in Ethernet, while the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max is a more budget-friendly choice with a faster Wi-Fi 6E connection. The Google TV Streamer is ideal for users who want better smart home integration and more storage for apps, whereas the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is better for those in a Wi-Fi 6E-enabled home or who are heavily invested in the Alexa ecosystem.

I enjoy the knowledge you gain from using the exploit
