CactIkid got it sorted out at last , when thru it all again , and I think we're I was making a blunder , when I went to pick providers I was picking both sly roi and saorview , so I took out saorview and just scanned sly on its own and went thru the whole scan , just one thing do I leave the usb installed in box , have it in at the back of the box so it's out of the way ? Thanks again for all the help and patience and all the forum for their input got me out of a heap loan of teething issues

Set you EPG to update every night, under "location" set it to save to media/hdd not internal flash

then leave the usb stick in the back of the box
 
Thanks mate I really needed this. Having some problems setting up MGCAMD with an N-line. I think I need the correct mg_cfg file.
 
Bees have box set as in your guide 0400 do i need to change the time , by the way thanks again for the excellent tut , perfect for first timers

older images had time at 01.00 update abm or epg think mine is also 04.00 and epg at 04.10
 
Ok thanks, the blue button on the screen is identified as the favourites button. I'll check with the company I bought my tuner from.
 
Hello all, I have been having a nightmare trying to get this line sorted with this Duo2 box running vix, I have been using the mgcam 1.38 adding the server setting using Filezilla still not working. Line confirmed to be working on previous openbox. Can I just ask if I am only trying to add one line am I supposed to be using mgcam 1.38 or the cccam or both? I have tried following these steps a million times still no joy, maybe I am doing something wrong. Am I supposed to delete the newcamd. list example ( I think thats what its called) on the box and replace it with the edited newcamd file with my details? If anybody could please be so kind to spare me some time to get this sorted I would really appreciate it! 👍
 
You can only have one cam running at any one time so make sure only one is active.

Paste your line over the example lines in the downloaded newcamd.list file so it just has your line in.

Make sure you change the front end of your N line to read CWS = like the examples in the file

FTP that file and the mg_cam file to usr/keys on your box

activate the cam
 
The quality of the line is more important than the cam.

Generally small servers will use C lines to run in CCcam.

Bigger servers use N lines in Mgcamd.

Any server who takes on too many customers will give you glitchy viewing.

In "theory" MgCamd is the newer cam and is a better system

But if the server is good that would take preference in my book
over which cam to use.

I'm having a little problem with my miracle mini + i have followed the guide and got the part where i need to open your attached files bees unfortunately my Mac won't let me
saying i don't have application to open these files......
any clues
i have screen on tv showing the Mgcamd1.35 and 1,38
 
You will need winzip to extract the two files you can get a free version.

Mg_cam doesn't need to be opened

and notepad can be used for the newcamd.list file.
