I have 1 cable tuner and 1 sly tuner, I have a fully populated epg, bouquet starting with vm which is then repeated with sly (all good).

Problem I have been provided with vm & sly gifs (2 lines) which I changed to 2 CWS = xxxxxxxxxx in my newcamd file running with mgcamd 1.38
vm channels working fine on cable tuner, but when I choose a sat sly channel nothing appears on screen. should I be able to switch easily from cable to sly
 
are both lines you have nlines,mine takes about 20 secs to come alive from changeover,hopefully others will say how long or instant change over.maybe someone knows if a tweak or setting to adjust is needed.

many thanks for the swift response, I will email my line providers to confirm.
should 1 be a c line and the other be an n line, what would be the best cam to use (mgcamd or cccam)

1 line is C type the other is N type, what would you advise cheers
 
i just run nlines on one type cam ,your issue would have to stop mgcamd and start cccam hence why its a pain and people dont bother to check in what to use.

All sorted and working now, I have sourced 2 x N lines 1 for sly and 1 for vm running mgcamd 1.38, switching between vm to sly is pretty much instant.
Many thanks for highlighting my issue and again great setup guide in the first post, saves a lot of pain and time.

I do have another query though, is it easy to add channels into FAVS?

Hoping someone can help me,I am changing from a kv 850 and having a miracle box delivered tomorrow,looking at the tut from the op I am trying to understand it all.
my main PC is Apple MacBook Pro,I do have a ms surface pro running Windows,my query is at the stage of FileZilla,does the PC have to be hard wired to the superhub or can it be done via wifi?
If it can't be done via wifi then my surface pro is ruled out I think as there's no way to hard wire it.
this then leaves my mac book to set up network,can anyone give a simple guide for using Mac and if there's a suitable Mac alternative to FileZilla.

yes should be able to use wifi i think as you enter your box ip like 192.168.1.30 and in username enter - root then press connect and you should see your box then.

filezilla client is a ftp program.

i have just downloaded FileZilla onto the surface pro so will try it out tomorrow.

Without having to completely set up the box from scratch is there a way to have both CCcam and Mgcamd enabled at the same time as currently on my setup it just shows MGcamd and the provider that has the line only used CCcam with c line only.

Not sure how to go about this as I have been accustomed to using N lines in Mgcamd.

You cant run both at the same time,just download cccam 2.3.0 from plugins and add the cline into ect folder on the box
 
nobody bloody listens use only 1 type of line on box be it nline or cline,dont start mixing and matching

one reason why members should read more on their box to see how it works-or not:fear:👍
