Guide How to set up an E2 combo box with vix image

Without having to completely set up the box from scratch is there a way to have both CCcam and Mgcamd enabled at the same time as currently on my setup it just shows MGcamd and the provider that has the line only used CCcam with c line only.

Not sure how to go about this as I have been accustomed to using N lines in Mgcamd.

channelking and minizone there is a way! I have this working in a Mutant HD2400 using Openvix 3.2.007. I can chop and change quickly between different cable and satellite server suppliers n and c lines no problem.
I gleaned this from various sources last year. I made some notes then and just copy and paste them below.
Some of the steps might be different, missing or unecessay for different boxes and images. Of course it may not work for all boxes and images.
Might have to be for mips chip based boxes like the Mutant HD2400 is as it didn't work properly in my Alien2+ Triple. The xtrend et8000 combo should be OK.
Furthermore both lines run at THE SAME TIME so you can say watch or record using an nline while recording using a cline and vice versa.

How to setup MGCamd with cable nline and satellite cline in Mutant HD2400 with Openvix 3.2.007

There are 3 important files that need to be created or edited. The files will end up in /var/keys or /usr/keys:

mg_cfg
cccamd.list
newcamd.list
1. Install mgcamd v1.38:
Go Menu/Plugins/Download PLugins (green button) - Scroll down to softcams/mgcamd v1.38.
2. Install cccam v2.3.0: NOTE NOT NEEDED IF RUNNING CLINE IN MGCAMD SOFTCAM
- This does not appear as in 1. above so you have to download an .ipk file and install it manually:
- Download enigma2-plugin-cams-CCcam_v2.3.0-ViX-all.ipk from Forum Gateway - Powered by DnP Firewall or OpenViX – OpenViX, often cloned, never bettered… and go Downloads/Softcams
- FTP the .ipk file into the tmp folder on the box, press blue button/VIX/Install local extensions - highlight it and OK.

3. Check Menu/Setup/Softcam/CI - Softcam Manager to see if the cams are there. Note installing cccam and mgcamd as above seems to just get them to appear in the softcams menu – more files are needed.
4. Create a file called cccamd.list, in Notepad, and put just your cline in it and save.
5. Create a file called newcamd.list, in Notepad, and put just your nline in it. Change the “N: cable...” to “CWS = cable...”
6. Get the mg_cfg file by downloading the attached files at the bottom of Post 1 in http://www.techkings.org/general-cable-tv/65283-guide-how-set-up-e2-combo-box-vix-image.html ie at http://www.techkings.org/attachment...et-up-e2-combo-box-vix-image-mg-cam-files.zip
7. Edit the mg_cfg file so that G: { 01 } is

G: { 33 } and save. This makes it look for cccamd.list as well as newcamd.list. Note the spaces.

G: { 32 } if you only want to use cccamdlist c-lines,
G: { 01 } if you only want to use newcamdlist n-lines.
8. FTP cccamd.list, newcamd.list and mg_cfg file into var/keys, or usr/keys, folder in the box. Right click the files and make sure their Permissions are 644.

(Note FTP using Filezilla, for Mutant HD2400 in Host type in the box IP address eg 192.168.1.x, in username type in root, leave Password blank and in Port type in 21. Then press quick connect.)

9. Run the Softcams:

Go Menu/Setup/Softcam/CI - Softcam Manager
Put a tick in the box for just mgcamd v1.38 if using n and c lines together.

Green Button = Start

Blue Button = Enable Start Up
10. Restart box if necessary.

Wouldn't it be far easier to put both C and N lines in CCcam.cfg.

FTP to ETC folder

Download CCcam 2.3.0 and run both lines using that cam.

If you have a decent line you would never know the difference between the two types of cam

I guess it is a alot of hassle trying to having different softcam and different lines running at the same time.

Maybe its best to to just use one softcam and one type of line then. Seems too much hassle.

I am sorry for asking about this I thought it was possible to do.

Hello bees. I agree it woud be a lot simpler but unfortunately at the time the cable server I was using would not accept clients using cccam softcam for his nline. Hence the need for mgcamd with the n and c lines in it.

Oh, right I keep forgetting about that,
mine allows both, so have never had to do it 👍
