Amazon are launching a new Fire TV Stick 4K Select.

What's more, all of these devices will use the new Linux-based VegaOS operating system. You shouldn't see a difference between it and the FireOS, though. Developers can use C++ to write apps.'

I read that sideloading is still possible just not in the convenient sense that you use downloader etc. But you can do it via adb which doesn't require a signature app as they still need developers to be able to test their apps before rolling out
 
I have no doubt a method will be created fairly rapidly to get the usual apps working or alternatives.
 
I have heard through others on google, amazon will still be bringing out new fire sticks , not on Vega, that you can still sideload, If it is true or not we just have to wait and see, i can still it happening IMO.
 
A lot will depend on app devs. They won't do anything unless stick sells. You can get a good TV android box now for a good price
