Can't get plexus working

Downloaded plexus or acestream for streaming on kodi. But still can't get it working every time I click on the stream it counts down from 40 seconds and says starting acestream engine and then just doesn't work...

Vdubt25 has a working tutorial on YouTube. Only a certain version of Acestream will work.

How will I do this though if I'm using kodi on a laptop?
