Yeah i bet all the breakdown services have had a quiet time with millions of cars off the road etc and giving free help to NHS is a good idea to be fair (y) suprised at insurance refunds tho but hell i aint complaining lets face it they make enough money through the year with rediculous quotes they give out  personally i would have liked to have seen a free fuel card for them to get to work and lets face the reality some of them have already paid the ultimate sacrifice im afraid

Saw government had no choice but to give backed loans to small businesses from next week who were other wise being rejected.

Only issue with loans or any borrowing at this time is major risk if not making much money and then having to repay back the money to the borrowers with high interest if not careful.

HMRC have announced that the Self-employed cannot ask their Accountant to make the claim for the self-employment income support scheme on their behalf. HMRC will start contacting people who may be eligible for the new Self-Employment Income Support Scheme. If you are eligible, this scheme will allow you to claim a taxable grant worth 80% of your trading profits up to a maximum of £7,500.

Enter your Self Assessment Unique Taxpayer Reference - Self-Employment Income Support Scheme - GOV.UK

You will need your National Insurance Number and your 10-digit Unique Tax Reference (UTR).
This can be found on any correspondence from HMRC or tax computation from your accountant.

If you are eligible, you will have to create a government gateway account to make a claim. Your accountant cannot make the claim on your behalf but they can assist with setting up your government gateway account.
