Disgusted today...

and she can afford toilet roll on an empty shelf?

when demand outstrips supply we have to try to allocate to those who need most. doris currently misses out when the price clears the shelves.

a higher price means people who are more in need get the good.

and the shelves are never bare.

also the price sends another signal "people need more of this, change your kitchen roll machines into toilet paper machines"

toilet roll doesnt really matter

the real tragedy comes if this is applied to things people do need like baby formula or medicine.

its an inhumane and idiotic policy

Shelves aren’t empty if you limit buying.

Simple

and when there is a genuine supply side issue, such as post storms?

and when people need to buy for families and elderly relatives / neighbours?

not allowing price rises does absolutely nothing in those scenarios.

also people cheat. they take friends and familiy members with them to get round limitations and go to mulitple shops

in a world where toilet rolls are 10 or 20x cheaper than what people would pay for them, that will happen.

people just need to return to normal shopping habits.

people acted rationally in the face of the prices presented to them

there were obvious shortages. the price of what people would pay for toilet roll went up* whilst the price on the shelves remained low. so people spent their money on toilet roll.

*whilst the price of what people would pay alternative uses of that money such as going out to the cinema or chocolate dropped

Where is your shop located so we know not to go into it

You spelled 'ignoramuses' incorrectly :tongueout:
:ROFLMAO: I'll often spell words so incorrectly that the auto correct is like "wtf I have no idea what you're up to, you're on your owm"

Where is your shop located so we know not to go into it

That's the idea.

When there's shortages we have to ration.

We don't want people with low need going there. Price is the best way to ration
