Ha ha I haven't done one yet at the moment I'm using a backup image once I get used to atv menu's and I'm happy with my mods then I'll do my own image then test it then release so maybe a week or so before I do that

I am a total newb at this.
Slowly taking steps to get this going and I'm going to try and follow this guide.

I think I might get stuck at adding lines. C line/N lines I don't know how to get them or add them. From whom? How much should I pay? I want to be up and running by next week

Here is where I am...
Downloaded the flashing files and put the Zgemma file on formatted USB
Downloaded Fillzilla (which I have never used)
Virgin cable splitter came yesterday
Registered on Zgemma site and have the H2.H box in the basket (with discount code) Ordering tomorrow as I missed the 1pm shipping deadline.

I would appreciate any help mainly on how and where to buy the lines for. I need a C line and N line right? I'm gonna have sky lead and cable feed both in the box.
Bit nervous about the whole thing still
 
Either get 2 nlines or 2 clines one per service sky and vm request a sat line from here http://www.techkings.org/general-sa...ommend-good-server-satellite-august-only.html and a cable line from here http://www.techkings.org/general-cable-tv/59334-recommend-good-cable-pay-server-request-only.html

Having real probs with my H2H Zgemma I put Vix4 on but when i do a scan for channels i always get a timeout from what i have read it is down to tuner settings, what do i do for net id ? i am in yorkshire and the town i live in isn't in the net id link lists so would i choose the one nearest me ? also in the net id lists all the towns have letters ntl tw and about 10/12 numbers but the net id on the box only has 5 numbers so which and how do i put the 10 numbers and letters into the net id on the box.
I also checked the cable signal on my H2H

SNR = 29%
AGC = 10%
BER = 0%

Locked ticked

From memory the sat signal is

SNR = 100%
AGC = 99%
cant remember BER

Locked ticked

can anyone help please O)
 
It's just the first 5 numbers for the netid. Choose the closest to you. The 25% signal on cable is a false reading so you’re signal is fine

2 N lines and 2 C lines?
Is that too make sure it does not freeze or glitch as much?
Are these lines servers?

Either choose 2 clines or 2 nlines 1 for each service yes there server's to connect to real sky and vm cards

I will be getting 2 N lines (what's the difference between N lines and C lines?)
Quick newbie question:
Can I flash the box and follow the guide step by step as it is and add the lines at the end?
This part of the guide confused me
Set with mgcamd1.38. & cccam2.3 and with all mg_cfg and newcamd.list and CCcam.cfg files needed in place! Just edit your details in and reboot! DO NOT SEND YOUR FILES IN. EDIT WHATS ALREADY THERE
 
Yes mate you can, you'll obviously only get your fta till you sort your lines out. When you open filezilla and and look in the folder in your box he's already put the newcam/ccam folders there so you can just right mouse click on them and go to edit and copy and paste your line into them. Makes things easier

Hi Dsayer, I've installed the latest version of your backup but seem to be having a problem with scanning using ABM. During the scan, the box crashes and restarts. Any advice? thanks
 
How important is it to get the net ID code correct?
I live in AL7 Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire and I can't find the correct ID from the list. Luton and St Albans are nearby and London.
Anyhelp will be appreciated.

My box is ordered and also I discovered the cable splitter I bought initially might lead to problems so I bough another one (the one official virgin use)
Hope my box comes before the weekend. I will also need to get the lines, I hope it doesn't take too long.

Post in the netid thread someone will be able to tell you the correct net id to use. The lines are easy to get ask in the request threads.

What is the correct splitter because I'm experiencing stuttering problems?
I just got a cheap one from eBay
Even my free to air channels break up
