EPG on Kodi using Android box?

I've got my m3u file downloaded and working using the pvr iptv simple client. I have a xml link for the epg but not sure on this part. Do I just leave the setting as remote path (internet access) and enter the xml link I have? I've tried this but the guide stays blank. Any help appreciated, thanks

If you enter it in a web browser or wget does it return anything? If not then it's probably invalid

It returns a long list of what looks like channel names and info

Ok URL is fine then. I can't remember off hand but am sure there are refresh interval setting in kodi, have you looked at this?

This doesn't seem to be an option in the settings of the simple client. I av location (either local or remote), url, cache at local storage (off) and timeshift options only
