How far are you putting the pin in?
You can't do it with a cocktail stick or similar, it needs a pin or needle and it goes in about 8-10mm if it's like all the other reset buttons I've encountered
 
Putting it in until it touches whatever is inside, have a 2cm long staple so should be long enough. Can’t quite get a light to shine in and see what’s actually going on inside.
 
Ok finally managed to locate the button. Got to this screen and attempted to reset but getting error message.

The remote will not respond when it has that screen pabs hence the OTG cable and mouse option. I have recovered a few like that.
 
You are able to use the reset button to navigate, short press moves down and long press selects factory reset. I have pressed factory reset multiple times and it’s returning an error every time as can be seen. I’d prefer it if you didn’t say something works which clearly doesn’t.

You crack on. I've explained what to do and I've done it a few times and it works 1 million percent.
 
Clearly not as black and white as that and perhaps it’s because of the recent ATV14 update, but I don’t think using a mouse is going to magic up the files missing to reset it properly - if you read the error message.
 
The factory reset is not able to complete because of missing files. If anyone knows how to fix that let me know but telling me to just factory reset it is not helpful.
 
I’m grateful for any help but as I’ve said I’ve pressed factory reset and it fails and tried the other options on that screen as well. I think I may have to reflash the software or willing to hear any other ideas.

You need one of these with a type c adapter. Why do you come on here asking for help then completely disregard something that has been done various times by myself and it works.

If it is to connect a mouse that is not needed. If it is to connect a flash drive fair enough - where would I find the software.
