Installer was due to come this week - but was unwell. So unfortunately, until he comes it's status quo. The dish is firmly on 16.e and working with the Viark in the interim. Scope of the job is to check the motor, attempt a hard reset and re-do the cabling and F-connectors. If that doesn't work he will install a new motor.

I've not attempted the hard reset myself - as the cabling needs to be redone from the motor anyway so I will patiently wait for the installer.

Updates shortly.

Installer came out - attempted the hard reset on the motor as detailed on this thread above.

(The motor moves but just intermittently gets stuck and the only way to move it is rescanning satellites)

It’s currently on 16e which is providing all my football needs.

Purchased a new TM motor, and the installer will provide new cable and f connectors when reinstalling the motor.

Net net a new motor, f connector and cables and hopefully the situation is sorted.
 
Suprised he never fitted the new motor that you had bought just in case late December, been a long time now.

I initially was going to get a motor and get everything switched but then did a u-turn in case it was an easy hardware reset fix

Ah right, you did say you bought a new motor just in case.
So did Mal not have a motor with him then?
So whens it getting sorted now then ?
Been a long time now, lucky footy season nearly over and 16e held up ok 👍

Mal was original installer - who is highly rated; but I didn't feel it would make much sense getting him to travel 2 hours to come and take a look (time/cost etc.)
There is a local installer here that originally installed a motorised setup for me back in 2009 that came over

Aye - but footy season in august will be back and I need to be able to move the dish across the arc for max compatability tbf
as you say - lucky 16e has been solid
