so quick question does grogbuild go on a SF8008? while i have got all other images to load, i cannot for the life in me get this to work, i have followed instructions to the letter, but the atv image never upgrades to grog, the files are there on my hard drive after going through terminal, it just reboots and restats to ATV 4.

Have you followed @grog68 guide from r reflashing your box
yes many times now , but there is something either i am not doing right ( cant figure out what)or there is something not right with my box, last attempt gave a error of something like
wget no url found ( on terminal) after intimal down load .

Someone else has mentioned the same issue to me this week for this box, I don't know if it's something to do with the ATV image as most boxes have USB images but the SF8008 doesn't but just has mcc images and even though the file downloads to the box it doesn't flash the new image for some reason.

ah !!! . grogbuild installed on the single image on the AMIKO, my sf8008 box is the twin sat one , i have tried it over VIX as well and that did not work either !, glad its not just me ,, but wish i had asked earlier it driven me mad for a week !!:laughing:

ViX installs no problem on mine. There should be an error on the putty screen saying why it failed.
Usually because storage not mounted.
sorry willo i meant i tried to install grog over vix which did not work either ( not that vix did not work) i have your build over VIX on a slot, just trying opendroid 7 which seems to be working ok, cheers

You've tried to install ATV over ViX? :anguished: Keep taking the tablets and get plenty of rest ..... avoid using any sharp implements!

I've been searching through my stuff and @grog68 added this to the install script to overcome the problem:

Code:
if [[ $BOXNAME == 'sf8008t' ]]
then
BOXNAME='sf8008'
fi

Maybe it's gone AWOL :unsure:

Just checked and it's still in the flash script on line 38.
I will dig my SF8008 out and try it again.

Yes, make sure you have storage mounted as /media/hdd and copy the error if it fails.

(in putty click the putty icon at top left and 'copy all to clipboard' from the 'edit' menu.

No, not fixed. Maybe it doesn't like the BoxBrandingTest.py on ViX?
Mr Grog will have to have a look. I'm a big hammer man!

yes that's one of the errors i was getting,? so is it fixed ?
i am out for a much needed beer tonight (y)
I strongly advise a beer or two using atv or you may find yourself requiring a visit to the doctors :whistle: :sneaky: It can me most annoying (atv) Willo and moshi have tried and tried to bring Grog over from the dark side to Vix but he is entrapped into it :whistle:

It's not related to this box, but I flashed Grogbuild to H7 yesterday and a Gigablue last week and had a few install problems.
Choosing Freeview area/region has a fault.
I chose Winter Hill in both cases, neither was set to that, the entire list of transmitters are in the list of chosen areas., It's setting every transmitter as the one you chose.
This caused ABM problems.
It also set epgimporter to import EPG, which is not required at all for Freeview
