Satellite H7s Hdd keeps running up

Hi

Had the H7s for just over a month and love it.
Running whooshbuild infinity. And have a hdd installed internally.
The hdd seems to run up every few minutes, even when just watching tv. I thought it could have been epg related but this only runs once in the morning and the issue happens when epg I snt called on.

Any ideas what to check? Thanks
 
in setup/system/storage devices/hard disk setup/
mine is set to 5min./same as inactive/no
dont know if this is ur prob but u could check it
 
Hi thanks I have checked and it’s the same as yours.
I’ve changed it to 10 mins and see if that does anything....
 
it may also be that when you pull up the channel list it accesses the hdd to populate the now/next EPG stored on the hdd
 
On my old h2s I had a SD card which had epg timeshift etc located on that and not the hdd.
No SD card slot on the H7s so wonder if that’s why I can hear it more often...
 
Would it be better to move the epg to the box memory? It wouldn’t take up much space and the box has 4gb flash? Or is this not advised?

No as epg can become corrupted and cause issues. Some use a USB stick just for epg and picons so drives aren't constantly spinning I just use hdd myself.
