Idiotic sayings, what was someone thinking when they coined such phrases?

- well obviously, WTF else am I expected to do with a cake?

You can't have your cake and eat it (too) is a popular English idiomatic proverb or figure of speech.[1] The proverb literally means "you cannot simultaneously retain your cake and eat it". Once the cake is eaten, it is gone. Another one that get's on my t!ts is when people say during conversation, 'can i ask you a question?'

i almost always say 'no'

Then they look at me as if I've got a wellie on my head and repeat, 'no, can I ask you a question?'

This is when i say, 'you've already asked me two fu#k!n questions without permission, why didn't you just ask the original like any normal person?'
