MANY CONNECTIONS, HELP

Yes definitely a crude way of treating users and I haven’t had to deal with thankfully.
You should have the option to be able to use a VPN for privacy also.
Also, what would happen if your dynamic IP address changed for some reason? Which it can.
Would the supplier block you?
it wouldn't make any difference because both connections would still be using the same ip
simply put - it only matters if both connections are in use with different ips

If you have paid for one sub then you can’t use on another device and if you try it may cause bad buffering or it might get blocked.

You can use a vpn it’s up to you really if your supplier has said there is no need for it it doesn’t matter, I had few and they said no to VPN and I connected and nothing happened.
Supplier saud no vpn needed so therefore is it OK or not to use on another device it's not being used simultaneously, yous are confusing me either you or can't it seems to be 50/50 with the answer's in here ...

Ask your supplier if you can use you sub on two devices in the same household but not at the same time.
Explain that sometimes you use one device downstairs and the other device upstairs when you are in bed.
Unless you live in a bungalow.
If they say you have to buy two connections, they are being unreasonable in my opinion and I would find another supplier.
You don’t need multi room either because you’re not viewing at the same time.
The the supplier has the answer you just need to ask the question.

If your not using the sub simultaneously then yes use it on another device as long as you have the other device off the app it’s fine.

On one of my subs, i've got it on my living room telly and bedroom telly, i never have them on at the same time, it's just me and the missus, when i go away for a couple of days i take the firestick with me and use it, my suppliers a good guy and i treat him as such by not telling him fibs-just be honest

That's awesome and a good change of pace from the crazy restrictions mentioned here. I don't have any restrictions and checked to make sure. Can use it anywhere home, work on vacation with no issues or vpn needed. Only catch is I should be the one who is using it not someone else which is 100% fine. This is with one sub just like you, no second sub for outside and one for home. That sounds ludicrous.

What about when you go on hols , using hotels for work , holiday home etc.
I know one provider that will let you do that if you ask them holidays yes a few weeks perhaps not if working away for 6 months with multiroom account.

Are you talking single connection then that is ok not a multiroom subscription where you get discount because as name says multiroom for use in same house and normally tied to that IP Address.

Yes So can any one else if not a multiroom connection also the mention to use a vpn what difference does that make as reguards to connecting to your provider you are still using same user name and password so provider can see how many connections under those details .

P.S this thread started with one question and was corectly anwsered in first reply 😆

The OP mentioned on post #5
that his supplier had made him buy two connection because he had two devices but he never used them at the same.
Basically robbing him.

It’s a single connection, I did introduce him to five friends without trying to earn from it and I've been trouble free for him so maybe he just looks after me

I have tried with both IPs dynamic ones and static IPs, i have changed my dynamic IP on router multiple times and my supplier doesn’t block my subs.

that means you can take it on holidays & hotels on your phone or tablet using any apps if they allow you or with their supported apps.

What method did you use to change your public IP address to a static IP address?

Do think a supplier should tie you to 1 ip address and also not let you use a vpn on a single connection?
you are way off the subject but that does happen i have had ip lock on singe connection and supplier had to enable that i was using vpn on their panel.
but when I mentioned vpn i was referring to number of connections shown on panel if folk thought a vpn would bypass restrictions.

What I was getting at with a single connection is that you should be aloud to use that connection on different devices and different IP addresses, whether that is using a different location IP address or a VPN IP address. But obviously only one device and one IP address connected to that server.
A user on the thread said “Any decent sever will only allow one IP connection”
They also said “if a supplier locks the IP to one location then multiple devices is not an option” which is wrong.
That is not possible because the supplier would only see your public IP address and not the internal IP address of that device.
This can only be implemented by using Mac addresses for each device.
But you can change the MAC address on the device by spoofing it.

I get what you're saying but I don't agree with the you should be aloud bit. I think you need to remember what you're getting for your sixty quid a year or so. Go to sky, pay £120 a month and you've still got to pay extra for multi-room, I get good treatment from my suppliers but I've proved myself to them

I don’t think it unreasonable to be able to use your one connection where you like.
If you either travel for work or go away on weekend breaks to a holiday home.
It shouldn’t make any difference to the supplier.
Unless they want to get more money out of you for having another connection that you can use away from your home.
