post being deleted

I had made a post and tried to reply to one, both sat pending yesterday. I looked today and both were removed. I'm not sure what was wrong with them, any insight would be appreciated so I can avoid repeating mistakes in the future

Did you try to advertise something, or recommend something to anyone?

Have you got another account here?
If there's another user at your ip address you have to clear it with admin before you're allowed to post

the reply was a link to another thread in the forum that was similar to the issue they were having. My other post was in software with a link to a site that has free or heavily discounted activation codes that I thought would be beneficial to some members

There are other posts in the software section with links so I assumed it was ok, and trying to point someone to a post that ight help seemed ok
