Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo has joined Brazilian club Botafogo on a four-year deal.

The Brazilian signed for Forest from Palmeiras in January 2023 for a fee of about £16m.

He made 62 appearances in all competitions with the majority of those coming in his first full season with the club.

The 24-year-old featured just 13 times in 2024-25 after suffering a broken ankle during the opening-day draw against Bournemouth.

Ipswich Town have completed the signing of full-back Ashley Young following his Everton departure.

Young, 40, left Everton this summer after the conclusion of his contract.

He joins the Championship club on a one-year deal that runs until 2026.

The 23-year-old Frenchman has passed a medical and agreed personal terms.

Ekitike will fly out to join Liverpool's pre-season tour of Asia later this week.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has completed a season-long loan move to La Liga club Barcelona.

The 27-year-old joins on an initial 12-month loan, with the Catalan giants having the option of signing the England international on a permanent basis for £30.3m (35m euros) in 2026.
 
Newcastle United are exploring a move for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko in the event that Alexander Isak leaves.

Arsenal have completed the signing of Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia for an initial fee in the region of 15m euros (£13m).

The 21-year-old has joined the Gunners on a five-year contract, which has an option for a further 12 months.

England manager Sarina Wiegman is "not for sale at any price", says Football Association chief executive Mark Bullingham.

Wiegman is the only manager in the men's or women's game to have reached the final at all five major tournaments she has coached in.

She led the Netherlands to the Euro 2017 title and the World Cup final in 2019, before doing the same with England at Euro 2022, and the 2023 World Cup

Alexander Isak has informed Newcastle he wants to explore his options this transfer window.

Fulham are in advanced talks with Arsenal over a move to re-sign winger Reiss Nelson.

Discussions between the clubs centre on either a loan deal with an option to buy, which would include a significant fee, or a permanent transfer.

If it was to be a loan, Arsenal would prefer an obligation to purchase at the conclusion.

Manchester City are set to re-sign goalkeeper James Trafford from Burnley.

Pep Guardiola’s side have matched a Newcastle offer of £27million ($36.3m) with the player agreeing a five-year deal plus the option of a further 12 months to return to the club he left in June 2023.

Bayern Munich have agreed a €75million (£65.6m; $88.1m) deal to sign Liverpool forward Luis Diaz.

Newcastle have made an offer for an initial loan with an option to buy. Talks are ongoing between the clubs but there is no agreement as yet.

La Liga is set for a major transformation next season as the Spanish Referees Committee prepares to roll out a revolutionary VAR system aimed at boosting transparency and reducing controversy.

According to COPE Radio, the new system will introduce a coach’s challenge rule, granting each manager two VAR challenge opportunities per match. If a challenge results in the overturning of an incorrect decision, the coach retains the right to make another appeal. However, if the original call is upheld, that challenge opportunity is lost.
 
Everton have sold their women's team to the parent company which owns the club - a move that will improve their compliance with the Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules (PSR).

The move allows the women's team to act as a standalone entity and attract minority investment.

The men's team, meanwhile, benefits from the sale being recorded as revenue in the club's accounts, which positively impacts their PSR position.

The North Stand of Sheffield Wednesday's Hillsborough ground has been closed by the city council because of concerns around its structural integrity.

The club had been told to carry out repairs after "extensive corrosion" was found in the roof of the stand.

In a statement, Sheffield City Council said assurances on this had not been provided and it had therefore placed a prohibition notice on the stand, preventing supporters from using it

Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl is to leave the beleaguered Championship club today.

An agreement has been reached for the 36-year-old to depart for free and Rohl has informed players and staff of the situation.

Rohl is free to pursue other opportunities immediately, but has no fresh job lined up and is expected to take time to consider his next step in management.

Sunderland have reached an agreement to sign goalkeeper Robin Roefs from NEC Nijmegen.

The deal will be worth north of €10.5million (£9m; $12.1m) plus €3m add-ons and will also include a sell-on clause.

Roefs, 22, is scheduled to undergo a medical on Wednesday before joining the newly-promoted side on a five-year contract. He is expected to be Sunderland’s new starting goalkeeper.
