Ok, no one has bitten so i'll bite.
Firstly, be honest here - did you read over your post before submitting it and think to yourself "do you know what, that explains absolutely everything clearly - people should be able to read that and be able to help me".
If you did, Im off.
Assuming you just had 10 or so too many sherries, or forgot your keyboard has a fullstop and a comma button, I will still try and help.

I thought satellite internet was a thing of the past? A mate used to have it when everyone was on dialup, as he ran a BBS full of software and used it to download everything at what was then, to us, warp speed.
Id imagine the ping time / handshake would be horrendous, which would make getting your data packets every 8 seconds a bit of a problem - which is what seems to be happening.
As for 25mb allowance per month, please tell me this is a typo? Ive used up more on a wrong google search......
Re signal boost - you need to get your dish aligned properly, or get a larger dish. if your in France or Spain, google the relevant size needed, although if in Spain your on a losing battle.

Thanks for that. 25gb per month. live in rural France only way to get internet 2 kilometers too far from exchange. Ping 768ms. Download speed 10.89 Mbps. Upload speed 3.65 Mbps. Anyway to improve or do i just live with it thanks again ken:beg:

Ive read ping times over 250 will cause glitching, but Ive had then about 400 to 500 occasionally and its been fine, but 768 is, well, I think youve found your own answer.
You keep getting idiots on here saying "I have 200 billion meg broadband" or whatever, but its the handshake / ping time thats more important. The actual data packet is tiny, but you need a quick handshake to ensure it gets requested / received every 8 seconds.

What signal strength you getting over there? If your running woosh's build it should tell you down the bottom right when you press the "OK" button.

If thats when you press ok twice 87%

Yeah thats it.
87% is absolutely fine.
Ive seen systems run ok with a 65% signal.

I think your problem is the slow ping figure, but for what its worth, Id try a few trial lines (requested in the "general" section somewhere on this forum) just in case it IS your line.
A lot of people on there claim to be the actual line seller but are just selling other peoples lines - if you get a test line open it on your pc in wordpad or whatever and check the server's address. You could have 3 test lines from 3 different sellers and they are all just getting it from the same source - by checking the address in the file you will be able to check that.
Im amazed at the amount of people who request a test line and dont do this then moan on here that all the test lines were as bad as each other - when the source of the line was effectively the same server!
