Should Gary Linekar be sacked by the BBC for his latest political comments?

Should be applauded for his comments. Am not a fan of his but he has gone up in my estimation. The government proposals have rightly been castigated by every human rights organisation.

i always ask how many drowned is too many, then most agree that the boats should be stopped. another way could be found without deaths.

Well I watched MOTD and have mixed feelings. It was good not to have the pundits talking rubbish, but it felt a bit sterile without any commentators.

I don't think it'd work as a long term format for the show, too impersonal. It'd be a nice option to maybe have on iplayer though.

The BBC were never going to win with this, whether agree with him or not everyone knows Lineker is a man of principle who uses his platform to speak out on causes he feels strongly about. It's inconceivable that he would allow himself to be silenced by the BBC when he believes the views he airs are so well intentioned.
