i have power vu channels on 4.8e clearing on zgemma 2s,,,,my signal strength is around the mid 50s,,,,,,,,,any other members in around the north west getting anything higher...
It all depends on which channels you are watching has some of the beams on Sirius are weaker and aimed more or less at Scandinavia an the Baltics. Been a long time since I had my motorised dish.
The signal depends on the size of the dish & dish allignment, I have a 1m dish and get 85% SQ on 4.8e & 9e (AFN & SIS channels), about the same as most TPs on 28e, the AFN channels are on 9e, not 4.8e - https://www.lyngsat.com/packages/American-Forces-Network.html
4.8e has the SIS & Discovery channels in PowerVu, (SIS channels change the keys every day now).
As mike says the dish size and quality
Off the l.n.b is important With 1.2 meter
Traix and invacon l.n.b my s.n.r on the
V and h side off the transponder was 88%
Around the 85% mark using a V8 Golden, 0.1lnb and 1.2m dish with Alsat Black motor here in Southend, UK, plus I also have an inline booster installed approx 3m from receiver.
A lot is dependent on the equipment, line of sight etc etc
Reaper.
