Thanks j4v3d i will turn the box off for a couple of hours and if no joy try a re scan. I got in touch with the person i paid the subs to after a couple of days and was told to wait another 24 to 36 hours for activation on Thursday morning. i emailed again this morning but have had no reply.

i have ordered a starview 7 usb lan. i am trying to download CARLING 1.03 but i am unable to. can somebody help me please?
 
Starview Subs

I would advise everybody whos starview sub is coming up to expire soon not to renenew their service with starview and go elsewhere.

The people in charge of starview havent got a clue what they are doing. Me and my uncle bought two brand new starview boxes at the end of december 2010 excactly the same time from excacly the same person.They both worked fine till starview got busted.Once starview resumed their service again after being busted they decided to give me an expiry date of November the 15th 2011 but wanted my uncle to pay a sub for his box to work.Considering the fact that my uncle had paid a 140 pounds for a box which only worked for like a month before it went off for like 2-3 months and the fact that he bought it at the same time as me and mine was still working for free whilst they wanted a sub of him.My uncle thought it was ridiculous and totally out of order of starview to behave in such a manner and decided not to renew his sub as starview are clearly after money and couldnt care less about customer service. If You wana be dealt in similar manner to my uncle by starview then go ahead and hand them your money.

Oddly Starview recently changed my subscription expiry date from November the 15th 2011 to October the 15th 2011 for some strange reason.But after my box expires on the 15th of october I dont want nothing to do with starview.You cant just change the sub expiry date of a customer when you feel like it.They have simply done this because they are greedy and want to force all their customers to pay them lots and lots of money.But it just doesnt work like that.You just can not do that.Its a plot to loot people.

I bought my Starview box for 140 pounds in december last year and as you all know their service went off for a while when they got busted.They havent even gave us extra months of viewing for the time they were down.which means that 140 quid was a total rip off.They wont even give me an expiry date upto the date when i first used the box they just made one up and then changed it again and made it a another month less so I could pay them a sub asap.I am sorry starview but i wont be paying you any more money.I have paid you enough in the past.

And with a service like starviews with so many channels not working and the ones that do work freeezing all the time and them just asking for money money and more money.I wonder who would want to renew their sub with starview.

I know about 6 other people who where starview customers but have recently gone elsewhere and have got the starview boxes liyng around their house like bricks.Its a real shame because if starview werent so greedy and actually cared about their customers it could have been a different story.But they obviously dont so Im Out.

Good luck to all you who decide to renew your subs with them but dont say you werent warned later when you come on here complaining about them.

I would advise everyone not to lesson to one man and his uncle, as thousands and thousands of people have returned to starview in the last few months alone. We all enjoyed the good old days/years when you just pay for a cable box and watched for free. (I wish I can bring it back).

We all enjoy something for free as long as someone else paid for it, but as soon as we ask you to contribute for your services weather that £25 or even £1 it seems too much to same people. However, you are entitled to your opinion and free to buy another box and move your services, best of luck with that.

However I would like to know what channels you say are not working and what channels you say that are freezing. Thank you for taking an interest in our channel content especially when you are not a starview customer. Can you please provide me with a list.

ffs i thought we had moved on from this, Khan Starview are no more only in name only, so anything you bought from them before the take over is just tuff, everyone took a chance when they bought these receivers that they could go off at any point, so after Starview was busted if the boxes had not been revived what would you have done with your boxes ??, well you would have put them in the bin simple, just like all the other boxes went eurovox ect.

Now someone else took over getting the boxes to work, and i say fair play they have sorted out the problems and they work, ok you have to pay for it now, well you cant walk into a shop get a pint of milk and walk out without paying now can you, the dairy and the shop has to be paid, same goes now for this box people have forked out for ser***s plus subscriptions plus time, do you expect these people to do this for nothing, would you ?? nobody would, and tbh i dont know why Kryptview have not gone the same route, and for 25 quid ya cant grumble how much would a full sub cost you, plus the cost of buying another box even sat you wont get free unless you are only looking for FTA, which you will get on your Starview now anyways.

So the point being either pay up move to another box, or go legit and get a subscription from your provider, there is no such thing now as a free ride !! its the changing times we live in get used to it.

im quite happy with what i got, would like the 2 sport channels back tho... kind regards martin

You asked Khan for an answer, someone else gave it, why not answer the overriding point, where are they?? what happened them, are they coming back??
you asked Khan as if there were no channels missing, now someone has put it up to you, you slag him off and not answer.
 
I can verify they are not the same account khan - 1956mjp regardless of how that makes a difference.

I think what you had there was a genuine member stating what is missing starking so lets not insult those that are giving constructive criticism.

Khan had his say so did you, forget about it now, concentrate on answering why the channels listed are missing / glitching to make SV service even better, we are all for being the inbetween to help you improve your services for members (for so long) providing it is taken on board.

So lets have some feedback from SV on what your planning to do about it rather than petty back and forth bickering.

Also from members about whats missing/ whats glitching etc, say if your happy and say if your pissed but don't turn this thread into flame war, it will be closed if it goes down that route.
 
My views are that if you are paying for a service, you have a right to complain, and we welcome complaints and feedback from customers weather they be positive or negative.

But, you have to give us time to work behind the scenes and please wait for a response and not just jump in. I have taken the concerns on board regarding the channel content.

Oh dear oh dear.The starview team dont like being criticised do they?Well welcome to the real world starview.If customers are going to pay for something they want a good service and they will criticise you when you rip them off.And listen dear BOXT when I go to the shop and buy a pint of milk after I pay the shopkeeper if he snatches the milk bottle back from me or abuses me or gives me half a bottle of milk when I have paid for a full 1 I would never go back to him again.would you?

As far as starview are concerened and them offering a sub for 25 quid which people think is cheap.From the info I found on this site its clear that starview have about 3000 users at the moment and if you times 25 by 3000 it comes to £75000 every 6 months.If thats not a money making scheme then you tell me what is?Llooting that kind of cash of peoples hard earned money you would atleast expect them to treat their customers with a little bit of respect.But every time someone complains or criticises them they start SLAGGING them off and having at go at them.I ask what kind of customer service or support as they call it is that?

You say we have the right to complain and give you feedback wether it be positive or negative and you welcome it. So why havent you answered why my uncles starview box has gone off and mine is still working when they were both bought excactly the same time for excactly the same price and from excactly the same person?Please do answer because it doesnt make no sense to me.

Could you also tell me why you changed the expiry date for my sub from 15 nov 2011 to 15th oct 2011?
Oh yeh and I wont bother giving you the list of channels not working as someone else has already.But I will say I have heard the answer you gave regarding the channels not working before.Starview customers have been waiting for all the channels to work for far too long.You guys are quick to collect subs and slag people off but cant provide people with a good service or treat them with a bit of respect.

BOXT I aint asked for no freebies or free rides I know nothing is free but there is a big difference in someone taking your money and treating you with a bit of respect and someone taking your money and ripping you off and If you read my last post again carefully you will notice that I did say Iam going elsewhere for my services.I am just writing this post to warn others.

First of Khan, you and your uncle "DID" not purchase the box directly from starview, you purchased the box from a retailer selling merchandise, you knew and everyone else did when you bought this box it could go off at any time, same as the rest of us.

Now the Starview ser*** was busted and your box was cut off for a number of weeks, and this could have been the end of the box dead in the water, what would you have done then ??, or could you have done, yes correct nothing, remember you bought that box as a FTA receiver and as such the FTA channels work regardless of when you bought the box, you and you alone decided to use patched firmware on your box along with thousands of others, to defraud virgin media of a subscription to premium tv channels, and yes we all know what the box was purchased for and the reason they where sold neither here nor their at this point.

Now after Starview was busted your box and thousands of other peoples Starview boxes where dead, so now we have another third party get the boxes up and running, they could have just left it but they decided ok there is money in this so lets grab a bit of it, its the same as any Company, they see a gap in the market grab it and make money that's what its about, not to do things for free, so they released firmware for the Starview box, "DID" they ask you or others to use it ?, they where good enough to give you x amount of time on a box they did not even sell to you, and you are complaining about that, at least you are able to view your channels, what about the thousands of others that eurovox and replay light did not get back on or the 5 other Starview boxes that also went to the dump.

If a company you worked at for 20 years closed down tomorrow and dumped you out, and i came in and opened that company and decided not to take you back even though you had worked there for 20 yrs so what, tuff i own the new company and its my choice what i decide to do or not do, its the same for the cable box you bought, go back to the retailer you purchased it from them and say you want your money back, you and i both know what you would be told to do, the people that are running the Sv server are a "TOTAL" different Company so they owe you nothing or others, they have decided they want to make money regardless of having 3000 people im sure that is low estimate tbh and is much higher, good on them, you want to watch your tv or your uncle put your hands in your pocket and pay, or get a subscription and then you wont be giving them your money SIMPLES !!!!!!

I told you to read my first post regarding this matter again yesterday but you obiously havent done that have you?So i shouldent really be replying to you as everything your saying is already been said and discussed before but Ill reply one last time just for you ill try keeping it short and simple.

First and foremost lets agree with you that the new third party who took over Starview came and blessed us with their presence and saved the day.But does that explain why they decided to make some people pay subs straight away for example my uncle and let some people continue viewing for free like me when both of the boxes were bought at the same time?No it dosnt.Is it fair?No it isnt.Does it explain why they changed peoples expiry dates for paying the subs so people pay earlier?No it dosent.The third party or the company or whatever else you wana call them can make money or whatelse they wana do but they have to run their buisness,illegal operation or scam or whatever else you want to call it properly and atleast behave morally and have a system of some kind and Some respect for its customers punters or whatever else you want to call them.If they keep going like this do you really think people will keep paying them for nothing?

Secondly your having a go at me and talking about me and thousands of others who own a starview box for defrauding vergin media of a subscription to premium tv channels.But your saying good on starview and fully support them who own and bloody run the operation.Who do you think is defrauding virgin media more and committing more of a criminal offence?Me or the third party running the starview servers who enable everyone to defraud vergin media of a subscription to premium tv channels?

And last but not least dont forget the fact that if the third party(Starview) dont owe me nothing.I dont owe them nothing either.I am free to go to another provider.So I dont understand why your so hurt by that.

I have said it enough times before I will say it 1 more time just for you I hope you read it this time.I will not be paying a single penny to Starview.I dont want nothing to do with starview.I have already shifted my services to another provider.I am just writing this posts to warn other people of starview.Because they are just going to take everybodys money and dissapear soon.I know that you know that and they know that.

First off if that is the way they run their business well that is up to them don’t you think, as I have said new “OWNERS” new rules apply, if they want to leave X box on but want to cut Y off that is their choice, as I have said you did not purchase the box from them.

Starview “NO” longer own the Server, private “individuals” now do, ok who do you think is taking the biggest risk here, YOU or them ? they are.

Yep I think they are doing a good job if they where not I would be the first to say it, and anyone on here would tell you, no better person here to speak about any cable box that is sh8t, regardless if its you or them you are both guilty of defrauding your provider, just them on a bigger scale.

I am not bothered by you or anyone else moving, but remember you will still be paying, and also have to purchase a new box, “more expense for you” the only other cable box running is the Kryptview, and tbh the service is not great by any standards, so you get what you pay for, if you go Sat side you will still be paying for a line, and that could go tomorrow as well, so I think 83p a day for to view tv is well cheap, and the service has also improved.

Any person you pay money to for watching via a third party box can disappear at any time Sv or Sat share is no different, so now you have shifted your services to another provider, what did that cost you, more than 25 quid that’s for sure, I think you are biting your nose off despite your face here, and that is all I am trying to get across to you, but regardless of what you post, people will still pay, as it’s the cheaper option.
 
Haha how can you say starviews service has improved?lol they have channels missing and their channels freeze all the time.Their service is the whole issue here lol its not even about the money.
Yeh I paid more money to my new provider then I would have to starview but atleast all my channels work and they dont freeze,and the provider wont randomly keep changing my subscription date just because they are greedy and want more money.
And your wrong in saying Any person you pay money to for watching via a third party box can disappear at any time because some people run their operation as a buisness and value their customers and offer a good realiable service whilst others just want to rob you like starview.
However you enjoy your starview and I wish you all the best and remember the cheapest option is not always the best.Like you said you get what you pay for.
 
There is prob a handful of stupid channels people dont watch, compared to 3mts ago when there was only a handful working i think its a vast improvement, i myself dont have any of the cable boxes, totally Sat boxes only.

And i doubt im wrong about the the third party boxes, if sky decided to change things on there system your "business" as you call them would be shut down same as mine would be, there is no way to say 100% that any third party box would remain working, a slight change to the Encryption like the move from N1 >> N2 >>> then to N3 what effect did that have on the cable boxes, so never say never, as you dont know whats around the next corner.

Oh and good luck with what ever system you have moved to.

I believe even though there is no notification that it's been submitted, it actually has gone through. You should here something from them soon.
