Taking the knee??

I'm against mixing politics or symbolism gestures of any kind like a bent knee in sports.
I'm satisfied that the majority of people are against racisim of any kind, so I can't understand
why footballers want to keep banging on about it...I'd rather they just play football and leave
political matters to politicians.
This bent knee nonsense needs to stop, its boring and unnecessary in football, and unfortunately
it seems to be causing more division, when we're hearing football fans booing. Rightly so, IMO, they're
fed up being preached to, they're there to watch football.
 
It's just opinion of people regarding this stance taken by football players.

Don't think there needs to be division even on here whether knee should be taken or not.

I don't know why footballers need to have social media accounts. They could have a group app thing for players only but posting messages is always open to someone not agreeing and posting crap in return.
The knee thing was a good idea, fair play, but when are they going to have an action for gay footballers who are still in hiding?
 
It has lost its meaning here, but there is a lot more racism in europe than here. Just look at the rangers match. So fair play to them for doing it on the international stage.

Not just Europe but the western world also. Right wing fascism is growing at an alarming rate. Racism is still prevalant here though but sometimes it's not as obvious.

Just look at the US and even Canada. Latter had a racist terrorist mow down a Muslim family there few days ago but we heard very little about it here.

My own opinion is taking the knee won't stop racism in any shape or form let alone in football but in society as a whole.

I also think media has a big hand in their reporting which ends up causing division amongst communties instead of bringing all together

I don’t get this stance, why should they not have social media accounts? Just so they don’t receive racist abuse?
 
I think it’s more to do with the big tech doing sweet fa about racism on their platforms. If they close their accounts, big tech loses out on money. But so do footballers from lost advertising/sponsorship.

If a racist tweet or whatever is reported it’s removed, if an account repeatedly posts racist comments and they are reported it will be deactivated, what else should they do.

Tbh their hands are pretty tied because it’s not like you need a credit card to join, somebody can just make a new account. At some point responsibility just needs to lie with the user because it’s not that hard to NOT post racist things online there’s just zero consequences for the most part.
 
Posting hate on social media is the norm.

I don't see what consequences you can impose on users by these companies who clearly are not doing enough.

Technically how can this be possible, sure you can ban a public IP but it’s not that difficult to get around. It’s not a social media issue it’s a people issue.

And that warrants a death sentence how? You are just muddying the water dude, people should be tried and convicted for crimes, weather you are black white or other.
