USB cable tuner or box?

Have a couple of sat boxes, and wondering if getting a USB cable tuner is a decent idea or am I better forking out the little bit extra and going for a cable box?

Dedicated box would be better hit the tuners do a job and if you've already got the boxes it'd be a shame to waste them.

I'd just buy a cable receiver - at least you know it will work straight out of the box so to speak whereas a usb tuner would need installing, setting up and then you may have a signal issue then need to spend more money on amplifiers etc.
