Already done.

In a twist of fate, I already had a like for like spare because I took too long to send it back (ordered one off ebay and then one off amazon because the former was taking too long)

All sorted now.

Did a TNT scan on the E2 box and it picked up the HD TNT channels fine.

Will do a VIark blind scan soon and hopefully that will be sorted.

Hi peeps

So when I got my viark and paid for my subscription. I was told from the seller it's 45 or 50 euros for the year but when I provided my serial number I happened to get this for three years. I asked why was this and he said it a promotion that I got lucky.
Now I found a seller who's selling a viark second hand but to confirm it's all good I provided the serial number to the server guys and they said this will be price for one year not three like I got.

I think we established new receivers get a promotion of two or three years and second hand is one year.

Why would you find that strange ? A new box from supplier gets 3 years...yet a used one which has either used up the 3 years or was a box from before the 3 years was offered on new boxes now just get 1 year service when paid for ..seems straight forward and correct to me.

Hmm fair enough.
But how does the server seller know just from the serial number that the box is new?

So they can tell from the serial number that this is the first time it's getting the subscription?

Every new box activated for the first time gets 3 years nothing strange about that,

So when you got your Viark was this a brand new Viark box ?

Sorry not sure. He just happened to have the receiver and dish and bracket so purchased the whole lot
Guess I just got lucky with that.
 
Viark Sat 4K Box was likely purchased but PT S/W Never loaded so 3year Sub was likely not ever activated therefor you did get very fortunate indeed .

Well I managed to convince my installer to come back next week at some point next cos he has a local job here to try improve my Snr levels.

Tbf I've had zero issues with the channels.
The only time I lost tnt sports is when it was raining heavily otherwise UK channels and 16.e which I use mainly has worked perfectly.

I'll create a new thread regarding expected Snr levels so I can ensure that I'm achieving this when he comes

Oh when I bought it I wasn't getting premium (encrypted) channels. I remember because I was at my inlaws place and wanted to watch the match on sky sports
I then purchased the subscription which I thought was for a year but turned out to be three

They don't sell 3 year subs.
