If you use newsgroups a lot you might consider signing up with Giganews. They offer a VPN service with one of their packages which could get you around the traffic shaping.

I know what you mean mate, i'm getting throttled constantly when i download more than 1.5GB from 3PM to 9PM.

Going to upgrade to 30MB as i keep telling myself when Virmin get there Superdud (yes superdud) back on track with the new R27 firmware update.
