VM Signal Levels

UPDATE

Sorry for the late update but been away during the bank holiday weekend.

Engineer came on saturday and checked the feed coming in. Was -2. He said im not suprised your getting issues as its low before it even enters the property.

Moved it up to the top tier in the cabinet and then measured at +10

Signal seems to be fine now. Only tested for a couple of hours but no issues of yet.

Cheers all for the help.

Good news then - hopefully it stays ok for you...

My first port of call would be to call VM - you have genuine services with them so they will look into this for you and increase your levels at the cabinet hopefully.

Hi Stan, hooe this message finds you. I to have issues with glitching and freezing, channels dropping out. I also have a h2h box. Can you tell me how you get the info on power levels?

on the bottom of the router is a 'settings password' write it down
open a browser window on laptop and type 192.168.0.1, click enter
use that 'settings password' to login to the router
click Advanced settings, then tools>network status
this opens a new page, click Downstream tab at the top and it'll show all the data, SNR and dbmv
copy it all and paste it here

Hope you don't mind me jumping in here Pablo, but found this thread quite interesting, I have some issues on certain channels glitching etc., so decided to do what you advised " straff " to do and all my Power (dbmv) readings are in the minus !, I have copied them, do you think a call to virmin would be beneficial or is there something I could do myself ?, regards tommy

just an update, seems there's an issue in my area that they are working on, was told to check settings again in 24 hours, if still got problem they'll send engineer out, so hey ho, see how it goes.

Sorry a bit later than I said but here it is......I would welcome your feed back.

power levels are miles out, dbbmv ranges are -6 to 10
all yours are -7, -8 -9 and even -10
You need a visit from Virgin to sort these

Hi all, just an update....engineer from virgin came out and now everything seems fine now. Cheers Stan for starting your link and really grateful for your guidance Pablo...
