I like Seiko from the 70s avoid 5606 movement unless you drop on one that will change date on it's own then it is worth quite a lot, and will defo increase in price.Would like new but I understand with my budget I may not get something that is built to last
So maybe it would be worth looking at 2nd hand ones. I really dont know
I guess for an investment, he does have watches for every day use, nothing that really costs a lot or anything
Have you got a link to this one pleaseBeaverbrookes are selling that tag for £1,100 ETA Tag in house movement, very reliable and new..
Hi Makido, it's all down to your budget, we got this for our son's 18th recently, hes made up with it, we were told it's a great platform watch to start if he's going to get into his watches, advised against Boss & Armani they are unfortunately made by third parties who really don't specialise in watches like the swiss do, this particular watch has eco drive so basically solar powered, it's a 200 meter divers watch, we got a great deal on this particular model, looks great to which you can dress up or down with, it's an all day every day watch or can be worn on special occaisions, this will fit well inside your budget.Maybe you guys can help me out, Its my sons 21st Birthday soon and I wanted to get him a watch but I have no idea
What would be a good buy?
He does have a little watch collection going off, but I want something that will last and he can keep forever
I have about a £1.000 budget
Any ideas?
As young adults, yeh they want The Omega's, Bell & Ross, Tags, etc but we as parents have to be real about budget, we can't forget they are adults now - hence why we went for The Starter watch we did, if our son is serious about his watches hopefully he'll keep his 18th Birthday gift for sentimental reasons, but add to his collection on his own budget and style its took me all my life to have The Omega I have, one day it potentially will go to him, as much as he eye's it up now!Hi Makido, it's all down to your budget, we got this for our son's 18th recently, hes made up with it, we were told it's a great platform watch to start if he's going to get into his watches, advised against Boss & Armani they are unfortunately made by third parties who really don't specialise in watches like the swiss do, this particular watch has eco drive so basically solar powered, it's a 200 meter divers watch, we got a great deal on this particular model, looks great to which you can dress up or down with, it's an all day every day watch or can be worn on special occaisions, this will fit well inside your budget.

You have all given me some idea as to what I should look for so thank you
Im thinking the one @stuss linked me to. I understand it possibly wont go up in value. But doubt he would ever sell it anyway
I quite like this
Certina DS Podium Chronograph Lap Timer Men's Watch
I'm allergic to nickle, even the small amount in SS can sometimes bring me out in a rash with some watches, a metal strap is a definite NO NO,
