Will my zgemma work with vm package with broadband on it only?

Hi guys just wondering if my zgemma will work with my vm even though I have broadbank only with them?

yeah it will, you will need to split the broadband connection with a splitter.

Then simply run the cable to where you want box to go.
I haven't done this personally so I'm not sure if it will weaken signal and cause problems.

Thanks Burlesy. I'm in this position too and wonder if it will weaken the signal, or if the Cable TV will deteriorate if I were to start a large download to my computer whilst watching the tv. I think my broadband package is about 50 MPs. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

i replaced a two way splitter with a three way splitter running tivo, bb and amiko box never had a problem with picture quality even when downloading

Sorry to hi jack, just been wondering, does there only have to be one physical cable going into the box? As in if someone had existing virgin TV cable and virgin broadband, there would be no need to physically split the TV wire?

If you was to cancel vm tv but keep the bb then yes you would need a splitter same setup as you would have now wire to router wire to box if you was to cancel everything then you would only need one feed direct to box as i do but you run the risk of being cut of in main box (mine has been going for sometime) so it is recommended to keep bb with them to gaurantee live connection.

So just for example, say I keep virgin basic TV package and broadband, but of course use a box and line to get all the channels, I could use the existing TV wire without splitting?

If your keeping the tivo box and broadband and adding zgemma you will need a 3 way splitter as each box needs its own feed.

Like I said i haven't need to do it as i have a feed for bb amd vm tv so there was no need to split the bb. Maybe worth asking cactikid on what splitter he would recommend as the image i posted wasnt the right one but you get the picture.
Probably worth doing some googling on which splitter have had the most success.
Also have a look on e bay for splitters. Try find a seller that has sold more than 1000 because that would suggest that they do the job if people keep buying them. Good luck

i posted a query elsewhere on splitters as mine is 5-2450 bought from a sat shop who said it was ok-i have issues lol
his answer "Thats a No-No! usually used on either Aerial or Satellite installs which allow the full bandwidth through thus allowing extra interference to pass over the 1000mhz frequencyrange VM use the 100-800mhz range "

use tratec splitters on 5-1000mhz as used by vm.

Get a 5-1000mhz splitter to avoid interference from the cable that will be feeding your router internet

I am in luck guys. I had Virgin Media TV before and only got rid of it about 6 months ago. I had to send the equipment back (boxes and remotes), but I didn't send back the splitter. I have a three way one on my wall still. It feeds my modem, a line going into the bedroom when I had a box in there and there's a spare one I've block off from the Tivo that was in my living room. Looks like I am in luck eh :-) I'll still be needing one for my parents at some point though. They haven't have the TV so will definitely need a splitter.
