You need a backup if your broadband goes down / has a fault, whether that be freesat or freeview or better.

Lets be real how often dose broadband go down i have been with Virgin for 3 years before that talk talk. can't remember the last time there was a issue.

true, if you live in the sticks, virgin not an option, we still got mobile broadband.

Cables get blown down in storms etc. My inlaws had quite a few line faults.

We had a squirrel chew through our BT cables a couple of years ago! Went down on a Friday it was a Bank Holiday the Monday and wasn't fixed till the Tuesday!
We have 2 sat boxes but missed the Champions league Final!
