Probably bit of a stupid question to all you techkings, but il ask it anyway. My usb already says fat32, so what would I reformat it back to? Am completely new to all this but would really appreciate if someone could get back to me.

Cheers
Damo

Before you add any file or firmware to a usb key being used for the box you must make sure that the key is always clean. To obtain a clean key you must format before every use and I mean every use.
To format a key to FAT32---insert key into pc---go to my computer---locate your key---right click on mouse---scroll down to format----left click and a small micro screen will open----scroll to quick format and tick----warning will appear, click ok---key will now format----exit and you may now add your file or use your key for epg or recording etc.

Sorry to bother you again reaper, but i done what you said but now my key say EXfat and i cant get it back to FAT32. Any idears to get FAT32 back?

usb format

computer--properties--file system says exFAT it used to say fat32. file system only gives me option to change to exFAT or NTFS.Any idears?Damo

Try putting your key into pc--open it and see if anything on it--if yes then it's not formatted so try again.

Why did you go into properties---the procedure is as above. You should have the capability to use either NTFS or FAT32 on your pc [I have on mine] if not then perhaps another member may assist. The key must be formatted though.

Depending on the key the box should recognize a key formatted to NTFS so try.[try to update a channel list to see if that works]

Damo1429...I take it that your USB stick is over 32GB? If that's the case, then Windows cannot format it to FAT32. You will need a 3rd party formatting tool.

I use a program called "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool". If you google it, you can download it for free.

Yes it is over 32gb. I've just been reading that it doesn't support fat32 over this. Thanks for help il have a look at what you posted and see if I can sort it.

Thanks

Damo
