Had exactly the same problem where it just said boot after downloading the latest software from the box and not from a USB. Flashing from the USB didn't work not from the front or the rear port even though I'd formatted the USB and tried different ones. Then I did a full format instead of a quick format tried it from the front port and nothing then tried from the rear port and success.... it works a treat!
