How to Enter an Nline into MG Camd for Skybox

Most people seem to use CCcam.cfg files to enter there
Nline into their Skybox.

I have read many posts saying MG Camd protocol performs better,
however I don't if it is actually true.

This tutorial explains how to enter an Nline into your Skybox using the MG Camd protocol.

You may want to try it and comment if you notice any real difference in performance such as channel changing and glitching etc.

1 Create a file called newcamd.list using notepad.

Use the "save as" option and change the FILE TYPE to "ALL"

In file properties it should look like this

When you try and open it for the first time you may have to tell your computer to
open it from a list of programs on your computer, then choose the notepad program.

2 Change your Nline so it reads into MG cam

Your Nline should look something like this

N: server.com 20000 user123 845795 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

Change the front end of the line so it reads

CWS = server.com 20000 user123 845795 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

(space either side of the "=" sign)

Copy and paste the line into the newcamd.list file and save.

3 Copy the newcamd.list file onto your USB stick.

4 Load the line into your Skybox

Put the USB Stick in your box and boot up the box.

On your remote:

Menu - Network Local Settings - Camds Setup

P1010232.jpg

MGCamd Plug Setup - Update files by USB - scroll down to newcamd.list

Press OK to put a tick by it.

Yellow Button (Read)

P1010233.jpg

It should create a new account

Exit Menus and Re Boot the box

Hmmm...couldn't get my N line to work in MGcamd.

Everything went as described in your post, but the channels remain scrambled.

I have a second N line. I will give that one a go tomorrow.

You could always enter your line manually to check if there is a problem with the file
you are trying to load. Using Manage Config files and ADD

But I have loaded a couple of different lines on mine by USB to check I was doing it right
and they all worked.

I got scrambled for about a minute the first time I loaded a new line then it cleared the channels
but after switching on and off a couple of times after that it seemed OK

In MGCamd you will see there is no green tick, so it just searches for the server once the box is booted
You can see your line in the Manage option.

Hi bees.
Thanks for your detailed info on the MG Camd protocol. I had tried a few times with no joy.
I then went into CCcam.cfg setting & deleted the CCcam.cfg file.
After doing that i now have it working.
Thank You.

Just posting again because I am completely baffled by this.

I updated my box and used a couple of different lines to test what I posted was correct.

All was fine.

I tried to update my mates box last night and all pay channels stayed scrambled.
Just like Kremmen posted.

I set up his box so I know it has the same firmware, channel list and we even use the same server.

The box would not update by USB.

I tried all sorts of combinations of loading, it would load the CCcam file etc, so it wasn't a USB connection problem
with the box.

I even loaded his line in to my box usind MG Camd by USB and it worked !!!????

If I typed the line in manually on his box it would run the line in MG Camd.

It must be something simple that I have missed but I just couldn't fathom it out.

Not to sure what you mean.

All I was trying to do was to use MGCamd protocol rather than CCcamd (Newcamd)
for the same line to see if there was any difference in performance

I tried putting in both my lines manually in MGcamd & they still wouldn't work.

This is on an S10.

both file attached for newcamd nline and cline to run in mgcamd cheers

example open newcamd file in wordpad then put ur acess nline in red colour data and save it

CWS_KEEPALIVE = 300
CWS_INCOMING_PORT = 21000
CWS = satabr.dyndns.orf 8679 csline cardupdate 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
CWS_MULTIPLE = 192.168.1.2 20000:20005 dummy dummy 10 02 13 04 15 06 17 08 01 10 11 12 13 14 lan server2

now for cline to run in mgcamd open cccamd and paste cliine in it first C: should be capital letter.

C: satabr.dyndns.com 54655 xcvxr4 ndhd483

dreambox users simply paste those two files in var/keys folder and start mgcam on box by pressing blue button select Mgcam and run

Been using mgcamd on one 1 of my boxs and cccamd and the other box off same servers and then i change my servers as ive got a couple and so far in my opinion the mgcamd is working alot better. ;)

Just posting a quick update,I have loaded another two F5 boxes with USB into mgcamd with out
any issues with the method above.

Still not got to the bottom of why one of my mates boxes would not load with usb
but would work if the line was typed in manually.

take firmware backup of your box then install that1 on your mate box then try mgcam file through usb becauz possible your mate box currently not supporting mgcamd or any other firmwarebug he have.
or
quiet possible your mate box usb port not working.

Yeah I might try installing the firmware in his box again and have another go.

As I mentioned earlier I set up both his and my box and we are using the same firmware.

Same channel list, same server.

USB port is deffo working because it loads the line in CCcam and
and connects to the server no problem on his box.

It also loads the same line by USB into MGcam, (you can see the account and the line details in the box)
but it won't connect to the server.

It will connect if I type the line in manually. lol

Finally, if I put his line in my box by USB, it connects to the server ROFL

This one will drive me nuts :laughing:

Ok thanks, I know about the Lan Tool but never used it.

I will give it a try.

(The only thing about it that's bothering me is just the fact that it's not loading by USB and it should lol
and only on one box !!! ROFL)

I'll have to enter a new line into my F5s soon, this might come in handy!

I'll probably be entering it manually, i take it there are no potential issues doing it this way?
