Yeah there's been an increase in the number of people that took the flu jab this year because GP's had a big push in increasing people's awareness that if you get flu and covid at the same time.....you're basically fooked.
I don't think there will be any issues in older people having the vaccine..... it's <55's and gradually working down through those age groups where things could get difficult.

Beleive it when we see it lol there's a potition going on for special school teachers to be offered the vaccine like NHS staff has due to having to change certain medical equipment ect

Oh he'll blag the whole thing like he did with test capacity. Remember when he was well short of his 100k, so he put about 30k in the post and counted them?
Exactly the same thing will happen with 16th Feb. What is it? 16m? They'll get to about 11-12m probably and then send 4m letters out on the morning of 16th Feb and count them to make the magic number. Watch and see buddy, you heard it here first!
I'm pretty sure all teachers will be first in the queue after they finish this 'phase 1' thing. If this ambitious target is hit in mid Feb, I'd imagine that will commence late Feb, early march.
I'd be happy to see teachers put to the front of the queue after the most vulnerable, they've been portrayed badly in the press throughout the pandemic yet are in many cases still putting themselves at increased risk of catching and passing on the virus to their loved ones.

I highly doubt Hancock will fulfil the promise he has made. He has failed on numerous ones previously.
Autumn is a big target for the government and can't see them fulfilling that.

Everything is "fluid" atm, the guidance for having a test was - only apply if you have symptoms, now after they announced that 1 in 3 infected people have no symptoms, you just go online ad book one without any questions asked. My local village hall opens up for testing tomorrow, wife and I are booked in in the morning.

As vaccination programme continues the death and hospitalisations will drop.
Currently doing 200,000 daily so probably around easter time almost all the high risk will be done.
The big problem will be next winter.
Through summer as cases practically disappear and uptake of the vaccine tails off will there be enough immunity to fend off the virus when October arrives?

That is the question mate
As the vaccine is not going to permanently protect you.
You would need multiple doses over a good period of time if I was to guess.

I'd say most 16-40 year olds won't get vaccinated at all due to being thick so it will continue circulating forever.
The only thing that can be done is to vaccinate all the high risk people and let the others catch it.
They will end up with some immunity but no one knows how long this will last.
It's here permanently.
As long as high risk people are vaccinated yearly or twice yearly then the NHS won't get overwhelmed which is the main objective

With NHS under collapse from reports today. Really hope the vaccine can drive the numbers down big time over the coming months to take off the enormous pressure they are under like the first lockdown.

Ye I imagine alot of the younger people won't bother with the vaccine for one reason or the other.
But higher risk people are the main objective and getting them vaccinated has to be the number 1 priority.

My mum had her letter to book for a covid jab (82) I did it for her online and she had a choice of going to Widnes or Manchester.Its a good job she has got someone to take her, Can see a lot of people not being able to get there especially the ones who have nobody to help them.

Yeah I think you're right, I never hear of help being offered to elderly with transport.
Hope you don't mind me asking, but in the letter to make an appointment, did it mention any risks involved with taking the 'vaccine'?

Believe some Morrison car parks will also be distrubuting the vaccine from there to people.
