I currently use 2 z Gemma h2s hard wired to my sly router, with my sly satellite dish cables for Freeview content, in addition to iptv through XE, I'm with sly for broadband.
I've had to use a VPN when premier League is on, (ip vanish through XE VPN) for the last few months, which I don't have a issue with.
Without VPN I get 29 meg download speed, and used to get 24-25 download speed even using VPN, so plenty enough for smooth viewing.
However the last few weeks, when premier League is on and I select VPN, no matter the VPN server I select the download speed is now only around 7 meg on my z gemma, so I'm experiencing a lot of stuttering at times.
However when using my mobile phone over WiFi, and using the same VPN server, and doing the same speed test, I'm howing 24-25 meg download through the same VPN server, and no stuttering, which is really odd.
My question is does anyone know how come even though I'm hard wired to my router, am I suddenly getting such poor VPN speeds on my z gemma?
Has any one else experienced this, it's almost like somehow sly have slowed my internet speed with VPN just to my z Gemma box, is this even possible? Is there a fix that anyone knows of?
I realise the h2s is quite a old box, but I really like using sly satellite cables for Freeview, and the sky skin layout you get on enigma boxes, and normally runs really well, it's just the last few weeks VPN speed has massively reduced a of a sudden.
I'd' happily upgrade boxes, but I'm a little unsure as theres so much choice out there.
i already have a Nvidia shield but would prefer a sly style layout and the ability to have sly cables and sly style layout too.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
