TM nano remote query

What sort of money is paid on these.
I paid about 30 for my harmony, but that was about 6/7 years ago. 15 for the one4all.

Sounds quite complicated if I'm being honest mate.
the pc method is a bit, but if your volume button still slightly work, you can set it up in about 4 or 5 minutes just by using the two remotes.

if the technomate is controlling the volume on the tv/receiver, then you can just use one of those remotes to programme the universal remote

Been looking and decided want to go with a universal remote.

Harmony is too much for me.

Can get the one for all essence 4 for about a tenner. Got good reviews also.

But on their website I can't find if it supports my box and can't find their contact details either. Anyone have any idea how could find it if remote support and works with my box.

Yeah, they’ve got no code for it straightaway. But you can programme it from your old remote in under 5 mins.

I’ve got the 1280, same price but with 8 devices. Only downside is, it’s a bit longer, so not as ergonomic.

You sure, on their website it says a code will be required to programme the remote?

As volume controls dont really work programme from box remote those controls won't be possible.

I know the remote is not as good as the harmony but for the price it seems good. What you think of it?

Haven't seen the 1280 one. Is this the essence model you have as think essence is the main one?

Just don't want to get it if don't work with TV and box.

Yeah, it’s got the learning feature, page 10.

Can you put the receiver’s volume at 100% and just control it from tv instead? That way you can Programme the volume buttons using the tv remote.

This is mine
One For All Contour 8 Universal Remote Control –: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

Was hoping it could just control the box and tv without any code or.me having to programme it.

Don't have my Panasonic remote anymore so that will be a problem then when it comes to the universal remote.

Just buy two and use them to programme each other lol.

If you can get some signal out of your current remote, it might work, but I’m not sure how strong the receiver is on the one for all.

Will get it from amazon and return it if no good.

Think the remote will work with TV but don't think will work that well with the box. No harm in checking.

Yeah, you can just switch to tv mode to control the volume.

If you have an old sky remote lying around, or can grab one off anyone. You can use that to programme the volume buttons.

Nah chucked mine mate. Neighbour's have sky but they don't talk to me so not an option.

If the remote can control the box like the original is atm I be happy with that.

If can't get volume buttons setup on the remote with the box will just get it done with my TV.

But need to get hold of Panasonic remote for that.

Why no panny remote and does tv have buttons for manual use?

Because it was screwed up mate. Most buttons stopped working so had to throw original Panasonic away. Generic ones for TV are rubbish.

It does but hassle getting up every time if want to change volume, AV etc

I hope this universal remote can do a good enough job for box and tv

@Drbox firstly thank you for your help really appreciate your advice and guidance my friend. Your a proper legend (y)

Got the remote today via amazon. Used brothers prime so free delivery and next day which was a bonus.

So last few hours been programming the original remote with the essence 4 one and got all the main keys sorted EVEN volume control ones but think broke them with how much I pushed down on original one lol.

Have to say impressed with the essence 4 even though have found some things like holding down the arrow keys and volume keys etc act different and bit slower than original remote. But can live with that.
Of course not all technomate keys on box remote will be on the Essence 4 which again not a big issue and tbh expected that.

Few things mate.

I haven't got TV remote to setup TV. But read the manual and followed the search option for it to get code for it and even turned tv off but nothing else can do with the remote with TV. Guessing need TV remote for it to work with the essence 4?

Lastly does your contour 8 have more functions than maybe the essence 4 doesn't and is that worth it?

Cheers once again mate.

By functions, do you mean buttons? It’s only got the basic ones - I’ve uploaded a picture. I do have a few keys missing compared to my other remotes. I bought this one as it can control eight devices, so if I get anything new, I can just add it on to here.

Have a search on here for the tv, as normally there’s a few codes for each manufacturer.

Ye went on that link before but not sure what the URC code is. Really don't want to get new Panasonic remote just to programme but may have to.

For me having remote control tv and box is all really need it for.

Ye meant buttons. Same here some buttons that are on the originals are not on the Essence 4. But not a major issue tbh.

One way to get around this to programme the missing buttons to another device.

So I assume you have programmed the technomate remote to say the Sat option on your remote. Any extra buttons can be programmed to the dvd or like vcr option on the one4all remote.

It then just becomes a case of trying to remember how you programmed it lol.

By missing buttons I meant ones on technomate remote are not on the Essence 4 remote itself mate.

But those buttons I rarely used on the technomate anyway so not big issue.

I managed to get main buttons programmed on the Essence 4 without any real issue.

Yeah yeah, that's what I mean.

I mainly use the remote for the viark, which I mapped to dvb-t. But the viark has extra buttons such as USB, TV/Radio, Sleep etc. So I mapped these to DVD on the oneforall remote to the colour and the number buttons.
