Speed radar

meanie

Newbie
I have been caught speeding 3 times over the last 2 weeks  do speed radar detectors really work ? all i want to detect are mobile cameras but if they not worth it I wont waste my money as prices start from £10 to £200

trying to decide to go for detector or jammer I know jammers are illegal but i use a gps jammer guessing that will interfere with the detector ?

Just drive more slowly.
you know how to someone off with comments like that heres my story 38 in a 30 dual carriageway recently changed boom! 35 on a 30 recently changed from a 40 boom! then today 25 in a 20 NOWHERE SHOULD BE 20 rant over!

Yes they work i have a snooper and never let me down with all fixed gps cameras and mobile laser aswell

Learn to read road signs then. In the meantime, drive more slowly please - we have families out on those roads.

Slow down and calm down. You're obviously a very angry man both at the keyboard and behind the wheel.

I apologize for being rude but you must understand if i was going 40/50 in a 30 you would be correct in saying slow down delivery drivers are nearly always under pressure so when a smart arse says slow down it really gets to them now i was asking for advise on radar detecting equipment not how to do my job

when a smart arse says slow down it really gets to them

Delivery drivers aren't above the law. If anything, given the amount of driving they do, it's more important that they drive safely ie within the speed limits.

Anyhow, I'll leave this thread and hope you get a driving ban soon - our roads have enough reckless drivers on them.

ye,
nobody ever got killed by a car hitting them at 20mph,,,,,,,,,
nobody ever got killed by someone doing 35mph in a 30mph zone,,,,,,
the mind boggles at your logic

As a fellow professional driver, you really should know that there are many reasons for speed limits, down to road conditions, schools/hospitals/old folks homes/churches/sports fields nearby, type of road, roadworks, etc, etc, etc.
You really do just need to pay more attention to the speed limits, and stay inside them.
Delivery drivers who speed to relieve pressure really are in the wrong profession, your licence is your permit to work, you need to safeguard it if you are to provide food, housing for yourself and family.

Would it be okay to drive a HGV (or any other delivery vehicle) with tyres that are just below the legal limit? No, it is a safety issue, just as speed is.

If a driver was speeding and knocked down someone related to you I am sure you would be upset so just slow down and drive within the legal limits.

won't you get banned?

No because you get 3pts per offence.
But you'll not get any for the first one if you choose to go on a course instead.
10pts for a driving ban so 9pts not enough

12 Points for a ban.

Speed awareness courses are not always given out, dependent on speed over limit.
Thats right. I was offered a speed awareness course over 10 years ago. I was dreading it but it really was eye opening and interesting - it did the job as I have kept to the speed limits since.

I was hit by a PO van doing 10 mph as a child I had to attend hospital numerous times and it ruined my career prospects at MUFC so slow down you
