What is the difference with Oled tv and my brand new Hisense Tv

Had to buy a new Hisense 4k tv. It is really bright and the quality of picture is a lot stronger than my LG 4k.

So what grade does Oled 4k tellys have compared to my new £299?

My TV's clocking on now and had 2 repairs so I'm always on the look but tbh I am totally lost with all the different screen types flying about.
My TVs a Hisense but I'd be clueless which to buy. I always say, your TV's only as good as your eyes

The main advantages are vibrant colours, pure blacks, infinite contrast, wide viewing angles, no uneven lighting or blooming around bright objects on dark backgrounds compared to LED TVs.
But all of the Screen technologies have pros and cons.
Oled TVs aren’t as bright as some of the LED,QLED and Mini LED TVs on the market but in the last year or so they are starting to get there with brightness.
The only way to actually tell is go and view TV’s and compare them or see them side by side.
If you happy with your TV then I wouldn’t worry.
When I have gone and viewed TVs the Oled, QD-Oled and Mini LED TV’s always look better than the standard LED TV’s.
If you have bad eyesight and don’t use glasses to correct it then I would just buy any TV as it won’t matter what you are watching.

Sit off centre (left or right) or sit much lower or stand up above the centre of the screen, do the colours wash out at all on your Hisense ?

In a dark scene (pitch black) and with the lights off in the room, can you see the screen of the tv, or is the room total darkness ?

On a black background with white text scrolling (end credits of a movie for example), do you have a pure black screen with just white text, or are the edges of the tv glowing ?

I agree with @Aristotle - I went to Curry’s a few years ago to look at TVs before deciding what to buy. The LG OLED were the winners for me. As mentioned already, the true black is very noticeable and impressive. My TV was almost twice the cost of previous models I’ve bought, but I don’t regret it and can’t see me upgrading for another 2/3 years at least.

Compared to a £299 TV an Oled will be much better but if you're happy with your current set don't bother changing unless you really want to upgrade. You can check out RTings since they review all types of TVs. The models are US and Canadian though and you can compare Hisense with LG or Samsung Oled as well. They even have calibration settings if you want.

Fair warning that once you get an OLED you won't go back to an LED again!

Well my TV's giving up the ghost, everything has a slight blue colouring and no matter how much messing you do with it it's the same.
It's a Hisense 55" which has got to be over 10 years old so I can't complain.

So last night I got looking for another TV, I'm going to go to the max size for the corner which is 58".
As for brand ? Hisense again simply because their cheap and the others been sound.
So last night I narrowed it down to 2

Hisense A6K 58 inch Smart 4K Ultra HD LED TV 58A6NTUK
And a
Hisense 58E7NQTUK 58 Inch QLED Freely Smart TV

The top ones about £300 using a code and the bottom one roughly £420-£450

I'm no movie buff or TV expert but from what I read reviews and comparison views say get the QLED over the HD LED much sharper.

So that got me thinking, should I pay the extra £120-£150 more up to date TV or just be done and buy the HD LED ?.

Dont waste your time faffing about, get the QLED one, will be a million times better than your existing BUT if you want to save money then the same will apply to the LED one and unless you have a soundbar or system you could get a new soundbar with money saved.

The last one you linked is 55 ". Stick with the HISENSE.

Make sure you get a Qled or Oled. Last year bought Hisense was 55inch Uld at a cheap price. Picture quality poor compaired to Hisence Qled or Oled.

I went to Costco recently to look at TCL, cheap but I would think the same quality as Hisence. Other option is Amazon. It supplies more info on quality.

I'd personally avoid TCL/JVC/Fire TV android TV's as (from experience) they become laggy over time. Possibly the case for most (budget?) TV's.

Can recommend Hisense and would suggest you purchase from Costco, JL or Richer Sounds as they offer 5/6 year warranty as standard. Get them to price match if you have to.

That's the one I'm leaning towards,

Gotta convince the missus as I originally said it would be about £250-£300

Just showed it her that didn't go down well
