I have a couple of questions..

I have just got one of these boxes, and ive connected it without using my splitter, and obv to television.

In tutorial, no one has indicated if i need to connect to my hub?

I have put carling-1.03 onto a FAT32 pen drive, and updated the firmware, and it gives me like 400 odd channels, but i can't access them all

Any help would be great..

It may be a case of connecting to my hub, and then reuploading the firmware from USB.

Like i said i followed the tutorial correctly on the first page, but no luck.

Last question.. What does: QAM mean? "16, 32, 64, 128, 256"?

NO SPLITTERS ON YOUR INCOMING CABLE WHEN DOING YOUR SCAN
how is this so you have one cable that as to go to two thing i.e one to the sv7 and one to the modem so you have to use a splitter.iam not buting you down but info a bit old not up to date.got some up and runing some no no carling 1.03 sv7 ups i think something wrong with firmware.
 
Im not using a splitter.

I have a direct connection, and it finds all the channels.

I'm using the firmware: Carling 1.03 which i downloaded on from this forum.

I plugged the USB into the box, and connected a cat5 cable to the box, and then i turned the box on.
I then followed the instructions about the "ustream" and then upgraded the firmware.
I then went to auto scan (EX Cable & Wireless) which is 6887 i think.
The QAm i have on 64 and the then i press scan.

It finds all the channels, and then i put it onto BBC One, and leave it on there for 10/15 minutes and then i change channel, but it says the channel is connected but nothing is shown.

I'm missing something out somewhere..

Like i said any help would be great :)

ive followed the steps listed when setting up starview box.... when i get to the chan search no channels show up.... finds absolutly 0..... im in need of rescue people please....

I have gone thro your instructions and dont seem to have the Non FTA channels.... Where you say key in 8989, i dont get the word K*yedit appear, i get the word emulator appear... could you please help...
 
could you still use the starview and connect it to VM BB? i know this sounds abit dodgy but without looking could how would they find out? also is there anyway to hide your ip so its 'less traceable'?

New member, tried various versions of the firmware available from other, likely outdated, sources, but can't get the Starview 6 working fully.

Followed the tutorial to the letter and had help from other users in my area. Even borrowed a second box from one of them to find out if the first was faulty. That doesn't work either. My line is an old Diamond Cable line (pre-NTL in England). I have no problems scanning for all channels, but just the FTA channels are working, non-FTA shows scramble.

At my wits end here, having great trouble with this.
 
Cheekypee i think u need to look at different threads, as this one in no way suggests anything about starview freezing dude
 
Well, some of the instructions on page 1 of this post were not quite straight forward relative to the menu I was looking at on the SV7 but I got it working after a bit of jumping around and back. Thanks very much indeed. nice one!
