Yes mine are set the same and different chipsets I'll have a play around I'm sure its something simple and no harm in doing an install over again it's good practice!

Hi. I use a 32gig flash drive for all my recording and epg and everything but it's formatted to fat32. Now I believe it should be formatted to ntfs or I am going to run into problems when for example recording a large movie as fat32 can only use upto 4gig at a time. If I take the drive out and reformat do I have to do the full installation process again or just part of it. Thanks. Maybe this should be mentioned in OP.

When recording, the box will automatically split files in a .ts file - I've not really tested this on long film recording yet on the Zgemma, but I have on other boxes. Have you tested to see if ntfs works. The problems with ntfs is that it's a Windows format and usually requires and emulator to read and write which may actually slow that process down. I know there is there a more native Linux format which slips my mind as to the name just now. But I wonder if that might be better. If there is a way to format/initialise from the Zgemma you'd end up with the most compatible format of disk. I may have a poke around at that.

As for you question the external drive holds the epg, time shift and recordings so you'd probably have to go through that part of the setup again (I'm sure someone here knows for sure)

In due to do some dev and rebuild today, so I'll give it a bit of a test.

Ok thanks pal. It's just that I saw it on sucmnsee's guide and he tells you to format to ntfs. I have not recorded anything big myself yet but I think it's always best to know so we can get the best out of our machines..

When u mount/initialize it box formats to ex4 or what ever it is so does not matter dont even need to format first as box does it

Has anyone had issues getting the epg to work?
I get <N/A> for all channels when I press EPG.

I've followed the instructions exactly, cheers

Please create a new thread if needed.

Please people - if you issue is not WooshBuild v1 image related start a new thread.

Lines not working, tuners and file formats are not image related but problems elsewhere. Please start new a thread for your issue after searching for it first leaving this thread for people who need help installing the image.

Thanks

When on the EPG, try using the Prev & Next buttons to move along the tab sections. The All channels Tab should be populated as should the Entertainment, Movies and so on.

hi please help ive installed this a few times but cant get the sections sports entertainment etc when i press epg
HELP

If you have installed this image (WooshBuild v1) you will have them there by default. You don't have a choice, they are there.

If you mean you cannot move along them, when on the EPG, try using the Prev & Next buttons to move along the tab sections

To have it as a list of the categories you can press the EPG button followed by TV or can Just press the TV button. Have a play and see which you prefer.

There is a thread with how to add picons somewhere using plugins. Have a search.

Hey wooshman. I have made my full backup and have tried to restore. Just to test it works really but I can't get it to reflash. I have changed the noforce file to force and have tried deleting everything but zgemma folder and also not deleting anything! I did put this on another thread but got no reply and seeing as I'm using your build thought I would ask on here. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ah. I've just found another zgemma folder inside the fullbackup_zgemmah2s folder. Is it this one that you use and not the one that's already on the root of the stick after backup?. Thanks again

Just want to say a big thank you for the guide, got my box today and had it up and running in about 20 minutes. Fantastic guide and it was so easy to follow! Thanks!

I personally use the one which is already in the root and delete the fullbackup one. If you have renamed noforce to force in the folder there is no reason at all why it shouldn't flash. You didn't blink did you and it actually flashed? It doesn't take long.

For the short time it takes, you could make a new backup and try again.

You are more than welcome, you are a great example of how quick and easy this is.
